Samsung should use Mediatek for all of its A-series phones. The newer Mediatek Dimensity are very cost effective compared to the Snapdragons.

Enough with Exynos, sell them to Google and let them rebrand that into Tensor for the Pixel phones, lol.

Sruuuuu, 09 Jun 2023Should i buy this or Poco X5 proPoco would only get 2 years of android upgrades and 3 years of security updates. If you go to galaxy a34 you would get 4 years of android upgrades and 5 years of security updates. I believe both would get thos eon quarter schedule, however if you don't like it feel free to jump to the a54 which supports monthly updates unlike the majority of the a series, however I heard it has trash chipset so it might be still a good idea to go for the a34. Old flagships such the S21 ultra would also be a good choice, but just remember old flagship get less updates.

Can anyone confirm if their A34 has the built in Samsung Caller ID and spam protection feature in the phone app?

Samsung SA tells me the feature was removed from 2023 models. But I'm thinking they are talking BS as I saw a YT video of a A34 with the feature.

Sruuuuu, 09 Jun 2023Should i buy this or Poco X5 proThis one, obviously. Other than the chipset and the display, it beats X5 Pro in all areas.

Sruuuuu, 09 Jun 2023Should i buy this or Poco X5 proI was going to get an f5 but then finally decided upon this. I can't comment on how it performs for gaming as I don't do that on phones but I'm very happy with it. Battery life is good and with microsd slot I have 128gb + 512gb with my old card. Display looks good and Bluetooth/smart view works fine. I'm someone who prioritises battery life above most other things so this is a good choice for me.

hannes Els, 08 Jun 2023i heard it has a good i mean GREAT battery life but im look... moreNo one in his/her right mind would buy a Huawei phone. Because sanctions and restrictions, and deservedly so.

In fact, many Huawei shops are closing down, their numbers far less than back in 2017-2019.

Even the people in mainland China are not enthused about Huawei phones. They either buy an iPhone, or Samsung or Xiaomi.

I don't know your reference so my advice is to see the videos and pictures that gsmarena took, you can also check notebookcheck, net extensive review.

I paid 279 euros for mine.

The price of this one has dropped a lot in my country. It is far cheaper than Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G! Seriously considering it. Does it have any battery drain issues? And how would you rate the performance and cameras?

Finally got the phone 6Gb/128Gb . I came from Xiaomi MiA3 and the objective was to get one of the cheapest phones with OIS and a good screen. Lots of my evaluation is based on my Mi A3 comparative use. I only use phone for office, mail, photo/video, web.

                                    Pros:
Screen: beautiful, bright , 120hz, good res.
Very fluid use, no lags. it has a nice softness of touch and feedback.
I found myself writing faster than in Mi A3 right away.
Screen finger print sensor works reliable and much faster than Mi A3.
                                    OIS Camera
4 OS upgrades (14,15,16,17)+5 years security updates
                                    Not much bloatware.

                                    Cons:
Obnoxious One UI 5.1 , lots of irritants: to add a contact to home screen it is convoluted process. Can't add a contact to the side bar, can only add apps. The simplicity of native Android in Mi A3 was certainly easier and that was my first time in Android.
I was not aware that to get a call i had to swipe, no info in screen for first time. To make the phone answer calls just by clicking the green button with touch instead of a swipe it is another convoluted process.
Camera is not a big jump in quality compared to the MiA3 one - that one also had 4K video
Sadly not 4K OIS in A34. But at least the 1080 videos are much better than Mi A3 do to OIS. One of my requirements.
Big, prefer Mi A3 size 6.1" but there are no small phones in this price bracket.
Edged design, Mi A3 had rounded sides which much better to take in hand and also to put in pockets. First time i put it in the pocket i noticed the fabric resistance something that never occurred with Mi A3 which in almost 4 years use i never let it fell.
Samsung attempt at data transfer time from old phone to make me install a bunch of games and apps.

Recap: Without the 4 years OS upgrade i might have went Redmi Note 12 Pro. Realme 9 Pro + was also initially in the list but comparative low bright screen put it out.

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2023What's better between the A34 and the A53 (same price)?More upgrades for A34. I am not sure 53 was announced with those 4 OS upgrades and 5 years security ones. Screen is better with more brightness, benchmarks have better values.
The radiation watts values are also lower.
