I'm planning on upgrading my J4+ to new midrange phone, is the a34 a good choice? It seems i should be able to purchase it for around €350 when its released. I only plan on using casually, i rarely play any games. My one cause for concern is the rear facing camera (im asking this here as you are all a lot more knowledgeable than i am on specs)

(guess they need to add graphic test there to be more visible) Is that the only important? The question is efficiency and thermals which affect the whole experience. And then bang for a buck ratio of both phones. Exynos better be improved since it's last try at least.

The Exynos 990 was bad but improved a lot with the updates.
The Exynos 2200 was faster in CPU/GPU but its GPU optimization wasn't the best at the start because of the new GPU technology.
Actually the Exynos 2200 AMD GPU outperformed the Qualcomm 8 gen 2 in Ray Tracing benchmark, the Exynos 2200 GPU is more than capable.

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2023YesIf the A54 was $5 more, then maybe. Otherwise the difference is tiny.

The A34 is available where i live but honestly i don't see a lot of people buying it because of the price, even less the A54
The wages here are about $400 so most people are gonna go for the A14 or some other similarly cheap phone

Have check it. A34 lacks adaptive refresh rate, it's good ol' 60/120Hz switch. It reminds little bigger but prettier A33. Build may be also bit better this way. Nice screen.

                                      Great midrange device.
However, will the exynos hold up for 5yrs yet alone 2yrs.
Being a samsung user after the 1st android update all phones slow down.
Will the chip be efficient for battery life?
                                      Its over priced as well.
I think this is a missed opportunity for samsung as a snapdragon chip would make this a big seller.
