The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G we've been hearing about since last year has moved a step closer to launch as it has been certified by Thailand's NBTC.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G unit that bagged NBTC certification has model code SM-A556E/DS, where "DS" denotes dual-SIM support. The Thai certifying authority doesn't divulge anything else about the smartphone, but the same model also got FCC certified, confirming 25W charging support in the process.

There's also a version with model designation SM-A556B, which was spotted on Geekbench with the Exynos 1480 SoC and 8GB RAM. We've also seen leaked official renders of the Samsung Galaxy A55, showing the smartphone in Awesome Ice Blue, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Navy colors.
