It has a wonderful screen that looks like a shining light is what I liked about this it is a great idea for a new samsung energy saving device to put on the light switch or on a bar at the top for energy saving devices

These were pieces of junk, even when new. My partner at the time and I got marching ones, white and black, and from day one it was almost unusable. Slow as paste in January. The specs just were not enough for Ice Cream Sandwich, but that didn't stop them trying.

Budget phones have come a very long way.

This phone was good on budget back in the day in 2012, oh course, as a low-end smartphone. But the time between 2012-2014 is such a blow for android device. The specs of phones is significantly improve or we can say it is a leap in mobile phone technology. So this "little boy" definitely won't catch up with the technology or even wasn't designed to catch up with the spec leap. As time goes, android apps being much heavier with tons of feature, UI,...etc. Because of that, this phone now only can become a memory more than a phone for android lovers. If somehow you still use this phone like me (it is almost impossible to get a new one nowaday), i recommend you using no launcher app as main launcher to save ram, rooting so that you can uninstall all those junk clunky samsung build-in apps or if you are an android professional, try to install some moded OS to get this babe run smoothly. And the most important step is looking for older version of heavy apps like youtube, facebook (or use facebook lite),skype,...etc. Goodluck and having fun playing with this phone xD

Mine is fast and to make it fast try this!

        1. Go to "Settings" -> "Developer Options" and then turn off animation.

        2. If you are installing games, get the old version of the games because some games are not compatible with ice cream sandwich (Android 4.0.4). By installing old versions, less memory will be lost. To install old versions, search up the game with its old versions with apk.

        3. Do not use live wallpapers because he home screen will lag.

        4. Do not install too many apps, it will lag a lot and barely any memory will be stored.

        5. If you want your phone fast again, hard reset it and wipe the data. Search up "how to hard reset samsung galaxy ace ii x".

Well I got my phone about 3 years ago, never had any issues with phone, got it free. I downloaded app that does memory boosts so it will free up memory, use opera mini for internet so it does not lag. In 3 years it has frozen 3 times but 2 times my own fault. I ended up rooting device to clear up space and to remove other non essential programs and now phone runs even faster so i have no complaints. Yes its past its usage for newer games but that's because newer games require more then phone puts out, same as a computer, your old computer can't run newer games unless you upgrade... so for what I use it for, it's more then i need

This phone is a really great low budget phone...for 2012. So don't expect it to live up to today's budget phones like the Moto E or the Galaxy J-Series. It is VERY slow, so don't get this phone if you're impatient. This would be for small children who want a phone, or an emergency phone. But as your daily driver, this phone will disappoint you.

Don't make problems where they're not exist. This phone was a common budget phone at day's when it was released (circa 2012). Not much RAM or space for programs, although it was enough for that time and you would extend the space for photos/music on external SD card or root the device and extend the space for apps on SD card too. Consider that today's apps are much bigger and take much more RAM so old devices is not working with them well. It is the dark side of progress, try to swallow it. So use this phone for calls/SMS and mail or buy another.

Consider that it is a four years old budget phone which was mediocre already at time when it was released. Today's demanding apps is slugging it down in no time. Don't buy this phone.Lags all the time.I agree with almost everyone, this phone lags a lot.It takes me 100 hours just to set up my Whatsapp. It almost felt like this phone don't want you to install any apps. But,even if you don't have any apps install just basic,it still lags.Internet is very slow.I almost want to destroy this piece of shit.Playing games is all time slow. All in all, listen to what everyone is saying, don't buy it.Maybe it is discontinued anyway but whatever this so called smartphone is the phone ever.

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2016This phone is REALLY slow. Whenever I want to call somebody... moreI completely agree as i've had mine for almost 3 years i can agree with how slow the device really is, i've had many issues with this device (mainly how slow it truly is) The specs on this site for this phone don't even compare to the phone, i meen RAM for an example, my phone only has 645 MB out of the 768MB mentioned, my phone only has the 2GB storage compared to the sites 4gb storage.

All in all its a nice phone if it wasn't to slow and the stats were better on it.

This phone is REALLY slow. Whenever I want to call somebody, it takes 3-4 minutes to start the call. The camera isn't that bad and the resolution is okay, but the screen is really tiny, which makes it hard to type a message. You can't really install apps on it because even the smallest apps crash out and make the phone laggy. I don't recommend you to buy it.

Samsung really screwed up the memory management settings in this phone and despite updates, they never addressed the problem so it hangs on virtually everything. You pretty much have to remove all the apps that you can to get a reliable phone. If you root the phone and reload it with a generic Android OS such as CyanogenMod aka CM11, it works fine, of course if you root the OS, you could probably change the memory management in the kernal to a more traditional management model. My Ace IIx also tended to corrupt the microSD drive on occasions, don't know if a generic OS would stop that, I just stopped feeding it drives to corrupt. Love the form factor, love the screen and camera, pity that Samsung makes such obvious tuning errors and then doesn't fix them, they lost my respect with this phone especially since it would've been an easy fix.

This was a great phone, not a lot of memory but moving apps to a storage card solved that. Upgraded mainly because of size.
