And the power button
Then it may say installing software update
Then wait a bit after that in recovery mode chose option named clear data/factory reset
Press the volume buttons to go up and down
And press the on button to select the option
After that's done chose ok then your phone will reset and then chose the option restart phone
Hint if you reset using recovery mode you will need to login to your google account to verify it is your phone

My mom has the j1 2016. She uses it for work. I know that she has the samsung galaxy j1 2016. It is because I have came to her workplace before. Really nice phone.

I still use this phone as secondary, just to see videos with the beautiful screen.
I wonder why many people is scared about burn-in in AMOLED when i'm still typing on this phone with perfect screen until now, only battery is need replacement.

The back camera's still banging in 2022 with great capture of colors, compared to the newest samsung budget phones in 2020 under $200. Loved this phone very much.

You read the date on this.... moreIn my opinion and based in my experience, Samsung galaxy J1 served its purpose as a 2016 android phone, I am currently using Samsung J1 2016 to make this "opinionated review", surprised right? Even though it may seem shocking, I do not recommend buying this particular brand right now, there are hundreds of phones on the market with the same price range but has better specifications. Sure this was one of the best phones during its time (2016), but to buy this during 2022 is a complete no-no. Here are some of its advantages and disadvantages of buying this phone based on my opinion and experience:
Advantages:
-small size ( can fit on your pocket, small bags, and its lightweight)
-durable ( this phone goes way back 2016, the materials that were used on this phone made this phone very sturdy)
-It is very strong, this phone have falled multiple times, it falled on the ground, bucket of water, i have thrown this btw, and yet it only recieved minor scratches from its sides
Disadvantages
-it really is small compared to the average hand, only a kid can use this due to the small screen
-with the revolutionary world we have now, this phone is completely boring, the memory snd ram is so small it will only support some social media apps,high graphic games won't run on this phone
-camera is totally outdated, does not need an explanation, this is a 2016 phone to be precise.
-storage is limited (unless you have microsd card)
-Limited access to certain apps due to its storage capacity and ram.
The best way to enjoy this phone if you ever bought one in 2022, is for texting or calling, download some music and emails.

01/04/2022. Yep that is correct. You read the date on this. This phone has probably been out for like 6 years but it's not too late to do a review on it. If you do plan on getting this phone for your children please don't. The processor is complete garbage an I mean it. It is stuck on android 6 marshmallow because it last update was in 2018. The amount of space available on it is under 4gb even though it says it has 8gb of storage. I have four apps on this phone and that is Messenger Lite, Twitter, Facebook Lite, and Ali Express. Now this phone just says storage space running out and the gallery refuses to open. I'm only using this phone because I broke my samsung galaxy s21+ 5g and this is the only thing I have right now until I have time to buy a new phone. If you think the other stuff I'm telling you about is awful then you're in for a ride cause those aren't even the worse thing that happens to this phone. Sometimes it'll freeze and restart out of nowhere. Other times it'll be
slower than a sloth and I hate that

I do not recommend this phone. If you’re looking for a phone as your kid’s first phone I do not recommend it. I do recommend it if you want granny to have a phone as it is very easy to use. My mom only has 2 apps downloaded and she can’t download anymore. Do not get any games on this phone or it’ll lag and freeze constantly and doesn’t display the game properly. It’s a terrible phone if you’re a heavy user but it’s a great phone if you just need to text and call someone. The picture quality is honestly bad but hey at least there’s a camera. Video quality though is terrible. This phone never was able to compete with phones back in 2016 and now with newer technology you’re better off tossing it in the trash and getting a better phone.

I am still using this up to 7/22/2002. Super Amoled Display and small phone, fits seamless in my shirt pocket. i dont play games on mobile so its all good!
