It's just a rebranded j5 prime. Go get j5 prime if it's still selling because it's much cheaper than this.

The old one 1.5 ghz quad-core was fast as 1.2ghz dual-core, the new one is with 14 nm architecture (compared to the old one's 28nm) is faster and more power efficient. The battery is smaller and non-removable(which is bad), but with the new cpu the battery is more durable. Also the 2017 model has more ram, rom, better cameras, metal desing and newer android. The phone is upgrade, not downgrade...

Good overall phone, the only problem (that is still ongoing) is that I've restarted my phone and it's now forever trying to unlock itself, any ideas how to fix this? Is there a way to remove the back so I can remove the battery and retry.
All help is appricated, thank you.

it has a weaker processor, quad core 1.4 compared to 2016's 1.5
non removable battery
a weaker battery, 2400mah compared to 2600
ram, storage and resolution are the same for both devices
So if you already have the 2016 version don't get the 2017 because you will only be downgrading to a weaker phone
