well, I got d cellphone after a very long wait, at first i wasnt really impressed with performance but after installing some apps from market like juice defender, dr battery etc. I am really impressed & still Im using 2.2 version, desperately want to upgrade . my final rating 4.5/5

Gingerbread 2.3.4 update via Kies is now available in Malaysia. Install Latest Kies (V 2.0.3.11082.152.4) and then connect your phone with Kies running and internet connection. Kies suite will check your current OS and then show the latest firmware update (Gingerbread 2.3.4):
PDA:KPD / PHONE:KPD / CSC:KPD (XME)
Download time depends on internet connection speed between 15min to 45min until succesfully flash with new firmware. Once finished upgrading your phone will then restarting and you can check your OS version which is show your Android Version 2.3.4 (S5577DXKPD).

Hey i upgraded my firmware to 2.3 nd nw facing most problem is i m unable to connect to net.My automatic apn settings is nt working nd when i m requisting for apns,operatnr is saying ur phn doesnt support automatic apn setting..Also while rebooting it is showing galaxy mini instead of pop,though i upgraded with s5570zskpb asian version of gingerbread.

Finally I managed to update to Gingernbread through Kies. The update is released officially in Europe and I think it won't be long until reaches other parts of the world.
The changes I noticed so far are:
Battery and notification menu icons are changed.
Music player has a better interface.
Screen lock pattern has bigger arrows.
A news icon called "Downloads" is added to the menu and it can be used to manage files downloaded from the internet.
The phone is generally faster and more responsive and smoother.
Battery life is slightly better.
WiFi issues that existed with 2.2 no longer exist.
Browser support for almost all fonts.

Actually I am in a wifi enabled environment. Just don't know how to navigate it. :P And will I be able to check why I can't create a google acocunt using my phone?
