Forgive me if i'm wrong here but from what i know is 'Tethering' is a method to share the Internet connection of an Internet-capable mobile phone via cable, or wirelessly over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. In other words is your mobile phone already has a broadband connection and want to sharing internet access to other device.
If you want to connect your mobile to other broadband connection, you must apply the connection by other method like via bluetooth (pairing) for example. The 'thethering' option cannot be done for network connection or establish an internet access from other device.

Not many user knowing this phone can act as Portable Hotspot same as home internet cable broadband. Just activate 'Mobile AP' and then setting your SSID name with WPA2 PSk enabled. Don't forget to enable 'Packet data' and '3G network'. Done! Now you can share your 3G broadband to any laptop or pc via wireless network.

how to tether this mini via a cable...?? it says usb tethered, it is checked. still there is no connection to the network...help pls.

plzz do me a favor ... could u please install g... moreActually i've already installed Google Docs about 3 month ago but then had to removed because of a few bugs, incompatibility and lacks of some features. Google Docs is actually still in experimental and not quite succesful especially for 'optical character recognition'(OCR) which the result not very accurate.
If you want to use your phone to capture a document, i suggest you to choose phone with camera 5Mp autofocus such as Samsung Galaxy Ace or Galaxy S. Since Galaxy Mini lack of autofocus, the photo snapshot will be poor and text on the document looks blur/unsharp.
Fyi i use Galaxy S (5Mp/autofocus) to capture a document and then transfer via bluetooth to my PC and use OCR windows software for converting text such as FreeOCR.net v3.0. However most printer already ship with CD program contain OCR software.

plzz do me a favor ... could u please install google docs on ur mini ... and try out the feature that Takes a photo of printed text and converts it to a Google document ... i wud like to know if samsung mini can do this properly with its 3mp camera ... i m thinking of buying an android phone primarily for this feature ... plzz let me knw abt dis ...

this is nice phone. but there is security in it. we can't lock any files or folders. that's the major problem
