I bought ... morehey man congratulations for your purchase. i figured out what was the problem with wifi. there is no problem. android does not support ad hoc networks. hence wep and open network are not detected . they can be used only after rooting and installing some packages. wpa2 works fine now i am happy . rattler bro can you try installing dead trigger . or n.o.v.a hd . if chat is able to play then then it is good. if not that means consider this phone as not having a gpu. just basic games no hd games whatsoever. i must say galaxy chat looks quite expensive than the price tag suggests.
Also i would like to mention 1 more thing . i ordered sennheiser mx 170 2 days ago . they are worth rs 590 on flipkart. check the wild rave reviews . i was getting them dirt cheap from ebay . so bought it. i can easily say the earphones bundeled with the explorer are equal to sennheiser mx170. and miles ahead of any apple earphones. i wasn't expecting it to be that great.
regarding build quality. build quality of white version is decent similar to tipo. but the black version is super great . but white looks great than black. so its a choice between either looks or great build quality.
when buying a samsung never expect great build quality. even look at s3 . all plastic and average build quality. Nokia is the king of build quality followed by htc.

I bought the Galaxy Chat yesterday and I should say that it does all I want smoothly. I'm not much of a gamer on a small screen so the inability to play many games does not bother me. BTW I tried many games and most of them worked fine. They look better when you have the phone in your hands and QVGA does not disappoint me in any way. It's clear enough for me and I didn't even notice any pixelation anywhere. It's probably because of the small screen size. Temple run lagged and amazing alex in not supported but other than these games it ran everything which I wanted to run, so no complaints absolutely. The new nature ux by samsung is better than anything in this price bracket. I was surprised by the music quality. It is absolutely wonderful. The downsides are the that it does not have mass storage mode(there's mtp mode which works almost the same way) and the build quality isn't very sturdy but you can't expect very good build quality in 8k. Your explorer has better build quality.

what i liked -
- sound quality is awesome in earphones. bundeled earphones are way tooo good. every note can be heard clearly. with SRS effects it is like you are in a theater and extremely happy with this part. it exceeds my expectations .
- i have seen both tipo and explorer. the display of explorer is better than tipo. the colours are far more vibrant that tipo. with good viewing angles. the resolution is good and to my liking . and regarding touch it is siky smooth .
-performance is snappy , no slowness whatsoever till now.
- i got around 115 mb internal memory. after updating like gmail, google play store it comes down to 105 mb. then i immediately followed that adb set location 2 method. it took only 5 minutes. and now i have installed. dead trigger, temple run , street fighter hd. app 2 sd , worldcupcricket , astro file manager, quadrant and some other apps . all are getting automatically installed to sd card . and free internal memory is 102 mb now. whih is more than enough .
- i thought i would get black rubber version , but i got white one . this one looks got but it does not have rubber back . it has the same material used in tipo .a soft plastic of premium quality .
what i did not like -
- buying a 2011 phone in 2012 . yes this could have been improved but currently there is no phone in market that exceeds this phone in quality at this price other than this and wont be until sept 2013.
- dont know why but it is not detecting wep and open wifi . it detects wpa 2 wifi fine. have to figure out some settings maybe.
- back is a bit tight to open. actually the front is inside the back cover. the phone is small in size.
- loudspeaker is average at its best. since i dont use loudspeaker . it is not an issue for me if you listen music on loudspeaker then better get tipo . tipo has exceptional music quality in loudspeakers.
- i dont even use camera much . the camera in sub 10k phones will be bad . my nokia n73 camera is miles ahead in comparison to any 3.2 mp camera under 10k phones
i am happy with gingerbread and htc sense 3.5 . as i have a tablet with ics running from past 6 months so dont need that. will install jelly bean maybe after a year when i am bored and decide to root.
i can say if you are not crazy about ics . this is way better phone than galaxy music and tipo . tipo SAr , music quality and touch problem are very bad . all in all i got this phone for 6995 . i am happy to get the best all rounder product at the best price. i will be posting a detailed review in 2 days on flipkart comparing all phones galaxy music , tipo , explorer with all pros and cons.

hvga res should have been there. this phone has the same processor as the galaxy chat and it has an integrated GPU inside, but it is not very good.

The thing is that when samsung puts out a budget or a entry level phone,they stoop too low - 3.0" screens,qvga res. ,arm v6 cpu,no gpu etc.
Even the people that r on budget now want a better specs than this on their smartphones since there r smart dumb phones around like asha 311,303 that easily trump a device like this.atleast sammy can give something like a xperia tipo which costs around the same(8.5 k INR) with atleast an arm v7 cpu,a dedicated gpu(never mind the most basic one) and a better res. than qvga.
They r still stuck with 2 yr old specs even for a budget phone.

if it costs more than 7.5 k . please do yourself a favour and move on to something else. go for galxy chat , explorer or tipo .
