Hi.
I still have mine with android 4.3..never updated from the time I bought it but I would like to update it now cause it's a bit slow and cant install many apps from playstore.
What do you suggest? I have seen a lineageos but dont know if its any good.
Does official update to 5.0 drains the battery much? Typical use..browser..sms..calls through network
I would prefer a system that doesnt drain much the battery.
( I bought a new battery )

I've been using my Note 3 for 8 years already. Still can play a few games including gangster Vegas. The only problem is the home button of my note 3 is starting a little bit loses.

Running Android 11 on this phone. Able to be used for light / mid usage, usual social apps and YouTube. A bit sluggish to launch apps but not frustrating.
Will be killed off when 32bit support ends, but I think its had a stupidly long usable life.

What I've done is, I have removed the stock Samsung Android 5.0 and installed a clean Android 10.
Runs amazing and everything is so smooth and fast

Updated review: Despite being a good phone, I'm gonna save up money for the new Pixel 6 Pro. I'm gonna use the Galaxy Note 3 as a backup incase something bad happens to my new phone. And unfortunately, for those who want to flash LineageOS on the AT&T variant, you can't as it has a locked bootloader.

It's been years and I got this thing out of storage. Mine's an AT&T variant. The battery and the phone still works fresh even after abandoning it for a long time. I'm so happy, I also rooted the phone and now I'm using this phone for everyday use. Samsung, you have the best long lasting phones ever!

I suggest users to move away from this quickly if you have the money and go for something with UFS as storage format. This eMMC gets bad as you keep reformatting it and as time passes by. Ends up corrupting videos and images.

And Cover-holder / Example - "Zerolemon" me ownings: for brokerage protection and use for belting, movie watching clip revolted - removable holder. I was using before someone stolen from me.... after did not found for Canada providers/ only US providers - zuss !!!
Had to buy Note 4,.... smaller amount of build-in applications (Note3 -was better 3 pages of- battery ate quickly) , but NOTE 4 only half page, but much quicker in use...
