And while I am in college, my bag is usually on the floor or on a table, so I may someday break the screen by stepping on my bag or someone may do this for me, so I guess a smaller phone in my pocket would be much easier and safer.

        SohailZafar, 25 Jan 2014Hi and GOOD MORNING to all out theres, I looking for a soli... more1- According to Build quality it is up to what you prefer they all have solid build but anyway you must find a case or cover to protect it no matter how strong it is. But you can choose between Aluminium on Lumia and iPhone, or leather on Note 3 or glass in Z1.

        2- They all have great image quality but the best is Note 3 in overall performance. It always came second after the Lumia 1020 41MP and was most of the time better than the Xperia Z1 or iPhone 5s.

        3- Best to worst battery Life Lumia 1520 > Note 3 > iPhone 5s > Xperia Z1
        the Lumia 1520 and Note 3 are both great, they both can give more than 3 days of battery life.
        While the iPhone has good video and web browsing time, its talk time is average, overall it will give you less than 2 days on normal usage. 1 day on heavy usage.
        The Xperia Z1 has a good talk time, but video and web browsing are below average, they are about 6 hours each. So if you watched a movie and browsed the web for 2 hours, you may end up charging it every day.

        4- I think they are all the same here, but I don't know much about Nokia, but you have a Nokia already so you might answer that for yourself.

        5- All are Great in performance and processing, but I think the iPhone will be a bit slower here as it still uses Dual core, so if you try using heavy high-graphics games, you might have a slower rate at the iPhone than the rest of phones on your list.

        6- Again on this part, I don't know about availability of apps in Nokia, you have a Nokia already, you can answer that. But Androids and iPhone have a great variety of apps, but I suggest the Note 3 or Xperia Z1 as you can get apps easier from Android and you can download apps from outside the play store.

        At the end, it is up to you, but I don't suggest another Nokia as you have already been using one for 10 months and all Lumias have the same software Windows Phone 8, so you will soon be bored with the 1520.

              i was using a note three sold for noika lumia 1520.... used nokia for a month and back note 3 again,, i must say this is a world class hand set... it does it all .. great apps .all world class. and the phone is in full control of the user ... in lumia after buying a great 1520 u feel u just have a great hardware but no apps. even the basic not der still dey have to go a long long way... until now note 3 is my fav ..love the phone ..very fast very smooth ... keep it up SAMSUNG N GOOGLE

                I do prefer reading on a bigger screen like on in Note 8. Seeing that you hate carrying something you can't pocket like me, the Note 3's 5.7" full HD screen does a good job. You can read the smallest text properly of a full website properly without needing to zoom in. You can annotate or mark up a PDF more accurate with the S Pen on important points of what you're reading.

                    Hi and GOOD MORNING to all out theres, I looking for a solid device for myself. Currently I using LUMIA 720 Which serves me really well since last 10 months but now I want to change my handset. I HAVE CHOOSE FOUR SMARTPHONES (Nokia Lumia 1520, IPHONE 5S,GALAXY NOTE 3 & SONY EXPERIA Z1) My preferences for the device are !
                    1. Solid and catchy build quality.
                    2. A good snap shooter.
                    3. Should have Best battery Backup.
                    4. I am heavy user of social networking apps.
                    5. Should have quality hardware with no lags.
                    6. Should have quality games I m not a heavy gamer but sometimes I use to play games.
                    Kindly any one help me to choose right one for me.

                            AnonD-139763, 24 Jan 2014Thanks man.. will check it out ..:)Personally for some reason i thought that 4.4 would sort of be a major update for our phone .. but not much ... anyways i did manage getting the new original samsung certified cover for 3300 Rs. it does work much smoother and the response of the cover is much better now.. its hardly been a few days ive bought this phone .. really need to learn alot in it .. havnt used its features as yet .. lol

Plus, Taking notes is a sub-part of the things I want to do, not the main point here. The main point here is should I buy a tablet for studying 2 hours a day for two weeks a year, and wait another year to replace my 2011-made old phone in summer of 2015. Because I can't have the money to buy both a phone and a tablet at a time, or should I buy the Note 3 for its compatibility ( I can't go to every place I want with 10" tablet ) and also have a big screen size that I can use to read ( or is the screen not big enough for that ).

                                Turned on my device back and the 'restart glitch' seems disappear.
                                I will update here if it happen again. :-)

If your current OS is working fine, there's less point in updating in a hurry for very slight improvements.

                                      Just one question, after updating to the new version of android 4.4, did your device keep restart randomly?

                                        AnonD-201872, 24 Jan 2014please guys , I need your opinions on this I rarely nee... moreFor reading and taking notes, I highly recommend you getting the Note 10.1 2014 for its Wacom digitizer (S Pen) for writing and highlighting text, and multi-tasking screens. If you have a bit more, get at least the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 running full Windows 8.1 with a touch/type keyboard cover and it also has a Wacom digitizer system.

                                        I have both Note 3 and 8. Get the Note 3 if your priority is for compactness. I'm only disappointed with the Note 8's short battery life of just above 5 hours of screen time. I also recommend new 8" full Windows 8.1 slates,particularly from Asus with a Wacom digitizer.

                                        Don't waste your money on an iPad. You'd have a difficult time loading media, limited storage, no multi-tasking, taking notes would be slower and less intuitive.
