Some abusive Z1 who actual hosed water or dived with it complained about water sipping through. Noobs.

But I'd NEVER compromise with only the features of what a mere Xperia Z1. Sony's design and software philosophy can't satisfy a dual productive and consumer media device. Anything without a Wacom digitizer isn't worth having since I do my most productive thinking with a pen, sketching and jotting down notes.

I've done some digital art since the Note 1. 2 pieces I did on the Note 2 won me 2 different competitions.

I'm also into sketching on-the-spot of whatever I observer - architecture, people, things. You can never easily draw better details with a finger or wide rubber tipped capacitive pen. The active Wacom digitizer S Pen has been enhanced further with better response and features. The isn't any other smartphone that offers this feature. Nothing. I even use a Galaxy Note as my input tablet for making digital at work with my gaming laptop. The Z Ultra's pencil mono line input was a joke compared to the Note's S Pen.

I could not miss an FM radio tuner and I don't use it even with my Bluetooth stereo has it.

It's difficult to find a device to substitute with the Note's features. It's still unequaled.

The less informed person who keeps making up bad things to say about the Note 3 only needs a basic device.

However it does highlight the confusion between waterproof and water resistant. They should have tried to make the Z1 waterproof not just resistant. Now that would have been interesting.
    I myself will wait for SGNIV since III has no radio. I'm not going to flog the point but I'm deeply disappointed. Samsung should look before they leap into ridiculous decisions like omitting one of the greatest communicating devices of all time.

        [deleted post]1st of all..do you have the z1?do you have the note3?..have you ever made an honest comparison between those two?..or rather, have you ever experience handling those two phones?..don't include that you just play with them a bit at the store..that's not actual experiencing!..i've played a lot with both phones..i've already compared them several times..both have their own pros n cons..the z1 surely is not superior, neither the note3..

        here some of my thought:

        ~durability
        both phone is NOT shockproof! fall down and it will eventually break..but since the z1 has both side glasses, it has more potential to break..

        ~built
        yes, the z1 does feel more premium when holding because of the glass at the back and the aluminium frame..a fingerprint magnet too~..the note3 has plastic back that has a looks and feels of a leather(almost~)..

        ~display
        i can say that triluminous has better saturation to true life colour, but it does consume the battery faster..the note3 is oversaturated clearly..

        ~waterRESIST
        yes, the z1 can survive any splash or rain or even a quick dip into the water..but please understand the different between water-resist and waterproof..the z1 is NOT waterproof!

        ~software
        to be honest, the note3 have quiet a lot of bloatware..to some it may be annoying, but others would love all the extra features..

        ~size
        both has almost the same body size..but i found that the z1 is easier to use with one hand, since the screen is much smaller than note3..

        ~spen
        i don't think the spen can damaged the display..i own the note1(waiting for nexus 5 upgrade)..the display is pretty much ok to me..unless you use a sandpaper to rub it on the display~~LOL

        ~camera
        the z1 is clearly a winner here..but if you are a person who snap pictures only to use on instagram or facebook, note3 is more than enough..because when compressed and resized, the quality is pretty much the same..but if you are a person who like bigger size photos with lots of details, the z1 it is..

        ~battery
        the note3 wins this round because you can easily swap the battery with a new one..you can have as many extra battery as you want..it eliminates the need for a powerbank..a great feature if you travel a lot, camping, or doing most of your work outside, in the field..

        you want an honest review? This is an HONEST REVIEW..STOP COMPARING unless you have experienced them urself..from the very beginning, your opinion is always heavy on one side..

              Hope the new OS v4.4 Kitkat for Samsung Galaxy Note3 will be available to download here in the Philippines as soon as possible.

                  Go and heartily post at the Z1 forum. I'm sure you'll find a lot of people agreeing how wonderful the Z1 is - all the great times washing to clean it, all those times you walking in the rain,all those picture taking in the bathroom.

                      Z1 has the highest hardware and does a good job with day and night shots.

                      The Note 3 doesn't have an optical image stabilization. However, the Note 3 has greater built-in software features for its camera. It bested the other 2 at HDR, panoramic, spherical picture taking, drama shot, and the Note 3 has 4k video, slow motion, 60 frame full HD video, more features like animated gif taking which you can edit by highlighting which areas to freeze/animate.

                              What is the difference between a 3G and 4G version with the exception of the processor type and imaging feature 4k Located in a 4G version Is there a difference in performance or anything else for the benefit of the 4G version?
