Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on Verizon gets BlueBorne vulnerability fix

Verizon has started pushing out a new update to Samsung Galaxy Note 4 units on its network. The update arrives as software version MMB29M.N910VVRS2CQE1, and brings along fix for the BlueBorne vulnerability.

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to take control of your device via Bluetooth. The process does not even require the device being attacked to be paired to the attacker’s device, or even to be set on discoverable mode.

As for other changes included in the update, the official Verizon website only says "most up to date Android security patches," so we are expecting the September security fixes.

Recently, the OnePlus 3/3T also got the BlueBorne vulnerability fix in their latest Open Beta update.

I honestly don't understand why anyone would drop nearly $1,000 on a Note 8 when a brand new Note 4 can be bought for less than $200 on Ebay. The Note 4 may be nearly 4 years old, but is still the best smartphone on the market IMO.

Maybe your note 4 is ugly ;laggy and useless. But only for you. Hehe! For us note 4 owners who couldn't find any jewel like this in a sea of smartphones that's been currently released this is woth keeping and caring. Peace. Y(^_^)Y

I am 5 flagships past my Note4Exynos, but I kept it around as my work phone. It is still the most feature complete phone out there and still fast enough. New Notes just don't have that replaceable battery. Instant 100% charge. Glad to see Samsung rea...
