djbedman, 22 Feb 2016My is telling me no sim cardMy i717 will show no sim several times a week. Sucky battery life, slow. Bought this phone because my iPhone broke. I've save enough money to buy without a contract. iPhone is locked down, wall garden but it works for me. My work phone is Droid Maxx. Solid specs yet it also freezes on me weekly. When it works, it's a really good phone. Guessing Android OS is still "developing". I'm done wh being a test subject. Windows phone is good, camera s awesome.

I don't get the point. It says it is Edge and Gprs capable. it is not mobile data enough?

I just purchased the Galaxy Note i717. I was unaware that this phone was NOT mobile data, so I can only access the internet, email, etc. when I have a wifi connection. I guess there is no way around this?????

Jay Bee, 04 Nov 2015My at&t SGH1717 is slow, is it anything to do with the ... moreThis has to do with Flash getting "dirty". Clean flash storage starts with all "11111..."s. Once it is written to data "1001101...", even it it is no longer needed, "0"s cannot be simply written back to "1"s. Valid data has to be moved to another available space, and the dirty block then has to be erase back to all "1111...". This is a very slow process and the old phone just gets slower and slower.
Phone maker has no incentive in cleaning these dirty space since they want you to buy a new phone. PC was in the same situation. Finally Micradded a background garbage collection service called TRIM. Phones has no such utility.

Use Kies to upgrade your operating system to either Ice-cream-sandwich (Android 4.0) or jelly-bean(Android 4.1) and Play store should be there.

Um, I literally just bought this phone and it doesn't have the Google Play Store? It just has the market? Every time I go to google to download the Google Play Store it takes me straight to the Market??? Does anyone know how to fix this? I can't download half of the things I used to have on my phone.

Seriosly,don't buy this phone. It has trouble with everything. After 2 years of use it brakes down,it restarts itself and the signal is off. Now i have to buy a new phone
