Hi guys. I'm still using this phone today. SM-G981B/DS with 12GB of RAM. An it's still perfect phone to use. Sooo compact, perfect cameras, perfect screen, works like flash. Only problem is battery life. I offten need to charge it 2 times per day. But with it's 25W super fast charger no big deal.
Today I recieved software update:
- One UI version: 5.1
- Version: G981BXXSNHXL!
- Size: 227.96 MB
- Security patch čevel: 1 January 2025
I don't know why but i was so happy... :)
And yes, mu secondary phone is second best Samsung phone ever... Note 10+. (it's for havy use and when I don't want to carry external battery with me on trip)
I'm from SERBIA and I do recommend this phone very very much!

The battery drains a bit faster when utilized as the chip is a quiet powerful one.

Older A series from 2017 are better in this regard, than this S series junk. I had to stop so many processes that were running in background & so much crappy bloatware. It took me hours to tweak. I even put the lowest refresh rate & all sorts just to stop battery drain & overheat. Now its running slightly better. The reason I bought the s20 is because its the last flagship with microSD. This is probably the last SAMSUNG phone I will own.

Hello, is anyone experiencing heating issues, my S20 5G SCG01 heats up even when not with much load, screen dims low when playing games like COD, sometimes closes on its own because of overheating, I'm running on the latest android 12.

Going into the 5th year of using this phone and it still feels great. It's awesome that Samsung is extending the support for these phones.

Using SM-G981N. I have problems using gcash, maya, bdo pay, gotyme.
Other than these problems, it's okay. Call and text, I have signal when others dont.

I'm getting decent battery life on software version HWG2 (July 2023)
Can anybody comment on the battery life using the latest versions? Do you feel it used to be better? If so, when was it better?
I use a US phone outside of the US so updates have to be done manually. I just don't know if it's worth the hassle.

I turned off always on display, auto brightness, etc. also replaced the machine made screen guard to a normal glass type screen guard. Now the issue is not popping up much

The newer Samsungs like S23 don't have much difference between us/int models in terms of band support, but the S20 unfortunately does. 4G reception is still super good though.
My hope is that the country assigns more and more bands to 5G as 2/3G is phased out and so maybe there will be 5G reception on a US S20.
