Samsung Galaxy S23+ in for review

Having already welcomed the Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra in our office, it's now time to complete the set with the Galaxy S23+. As we pass the phone to our review team we figured we’d share a peek at the middle member of the S23 family.

Except for a redesigned camera bump, updated Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and a modest bump in battery capacity, the Galaxy S23+ follows the formula of its predecessor. Without the contoured camera island the back feels more minimalist – basic, even. But although we have the exact same camera setup, we hope to see an upgrade to image quality enabled by the new chip and its more advanced processing.

The other thing new is the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 jacket that all three S23 models are wrapped in – the days of plastic backs long gone now.

Meanwhile, the 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display supports 120Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+, with Full HD+ resolution – all familiar specs.

We’re expecting to see better performance and a solid improvement in battery life.

We’ll be conducting our usual rounds of testing and analysis on the Galaxy S23+ so that we can tell you whether it’s a worthy purchase.

If you haven’t already, check out our coverage wrap-up of all things from this week’s Samsung Galaxy Unpacked announcement.
