Galaxy S24 Ultra tipped for a switch to flat screen as well

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra leaks so far are somewhat expected - camera upgrade, design changes, faster charging, etc. But the latest report is a bit of a shocker. According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a flat display instead of a curved one.

Samsung was the first to introduce a curved screen design back in 2014 when the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge came to be, while later on it moved its entire Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 lineups to curved glass. The company has since reverted the lower members of the flagship lineup to flat panel and now it may also give the most premium one the same treatment.

Ice Universe says the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be 79mm wide, which can only be explained by a move to a flat screen. The Galaxy S23 Ultra has a 78.1mm width thanks to its curved edges and it's extremely unlikely for the bezels to actually grow.

Still, we'd take nothing for granted just yet. Samsung could still simply go for a larger screen, explaining the discrepancy.

How to put the screen on 16:9 on the S24

Stopped buying Samsung phones since they started pushing 19.5:9 on nearly every phone. 20:9 is the sweet spot, not too tall and not so wide either.

Exactly s23 ultra form factor is already the best for width for the s pen. Looks like I'll use it for ten years 🤣
