Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may not support 65W wired charging after all

Vlad, 30 July 2025

A few days ago, a rumor told us to expect Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra to finally up its charging capacity from the 45W its predecessors have been stuck at, to 65W.

Today a new report, based on code found in One UI 8, comes to contradict that. If this is accurate information, then the S26 Ultra will only support 60W wired charging.

Sure, that's not a huge difference to 65W, and it's still a pretty significant improvement from 45W. The aforementioned previous rumor also claimed the phone would get a 5,500 mAh battery, which would be 10% bigger than the S25 Ultra's, but we have to note that other sources do claim the S26 Ultra's cell will actually stay at 5,000 mAh like its predecessor's, with the faster charging support supposedly making up for that somehow.

While this all sounds rather confusing, one thing seems pretty clear: the S26 Ultra will definitely not be a champ in either battery capacity or how fast it charges. In both areas, its Chinese competitors will have it beat, and by a lot. What else is new, right?

Why don't you get one of those smartphone coolers for gaming if you pressure it alot and cause overheating, i think it's available in 15-25 dollars range for most regions and can cool the phone really good.

And that doesn't matter. The reason CN brands boast their fast charging is because 1. they don't care about battery / device longevity (while Samsung provides 8 years of software support for enterprise and 7 for individual customers, not...

Well you are right, i only meant to clarify that the 120 watt is not exactly 120, and both Samsung and Xiaomi or any other brand could probably first try to implement solutions so that a 45 watt charge is actually 45 watt throughout the charging cycl...
