exynos 5422 came with quite a few new. Features..... You are right about 8 cores working at the same time but not for all time...... These cores work individually so they become active and deactive with respect to workload or amount of work to be done..... And when in idle mode, only 1 small core is active.... So naturally it's more power saving than its snapdragon variant ( which also has a better and more power consuming graphics adreno 330)

I did upgrade from my S4 & best in this S5 is heating issue is 90% less than S4 which i was happy to get rid of and muss less than Z2 even.
Battery life is Pretty good for me.
* 3 hrs of Call
* 50 Txts
* Synced with Gmail, Yahoo, Whats app, Facebook, Samsung account ect.
* Full time 3G or on wifi
* I am not a hard core gamer(might play moderate games for 15 min sometime)
* Bit of browsing and 4 hrs of Screen ON Time....
End of the day approx 14 Hrs My battery will still be at 20% which is almost an improvement of 25% over my S4.
Guys if you are using an S4 or a Note3 pls don't upgrade to this now. Note 4 is on its way in 3 months down the line.
Note: If ur desperate to buy this Pls check on ebay.in its price is 34,500/- and som discounts are also going on .

Go for it, its a beautiful product to use & If you are ok with Samsung's plastic built which are not as premium as HTC m8 or Z2.

If you are switching from Note 3 - please do note that there is a huge difference in the battery. S5 drains quickly coz of its 8 processors and less battery capacity.
Having said that do note that it is far better than S4. You need to adjust your charging timings to make a difference.
S5 is a powerful phone. But there is:
1) At times - Lags
2) RAM at times 85% consumed when on EDGE - 2g - 3g or WIFI
3) Heats like hell

I also had a chance to use Snapdragon version for a couple of days & to compare with my Octa core version.
In the octa core version all 8 cores will be active at the same time. Which might be one of the major contributing factor for less power efficiency compare to Snapdragon version.
I even had noticed almost all the time the 2 cores of the snapdragon processors will stop working if the mobile is in idle condition.
You can check this in CPU-Z app.

However, I have been comparing the snapdragon and the exynos models and it looks like that the battery in the 4core keeps the battery charged for more time than the 8 core model.

Best fon of 2014......camera is d real king of dis fon.....no lag at all.....display is sharp n crisp.....music n design is ok not a flagship level though......battery works well for full 1 day wid hspa mode on..........in all 4.5/5 stars to dis fon.......bought it frm flipkart for rs.38k.....n guys trust me its worth every penny.

Yo! Could anyone please tell me the model number of the snapdragon octa core version of the s5, I want to download roms onto it. I know the Exynois version is SM-G900H but I can't find the model number of the other anywhere. Also, the battery is draining from full to 0 with everything off just amx screen brightness in about an hour. I don't think thats normal, hence the search for another rom.
