Well I do want the worth for my money, I was due for an upgrade from Note 2 to Note 3. I didn't upgrade because of the Exynos Issue. I waited and to my dismal S5 too turned out to be on the Exynos platform. Yes I wanted a future proof phone and hence considering a 4G phone but then you don't get everything in a phone. You have to compromise on things and in my case it was quality vs performance. I had only two options:-

HTC One M8
+Great Design
+Snapdragon
-Avg Camera
-No IP certification
-No finger print scanner
-No warranty in India ( not launched yet)

Samsung
+Avg Camera
+IP certification
+No finger print scanner
+good processor ( 35116 on antutu)
+great battery life ( loving the ultra power saver mode)
-old outdated design
-can say plastic is not elegant but I don't mind as you win some you lose some

Well I went ahead with the S5 and don't regret the decision, its been 4 days and its an awesome device (love the camera, battery backup is lot better than my note 2 and yes its fast). The phone is light, fits well and I love the blue back..

[deleted post]I would consider waiting a month or two for the launch of the Sony Z2 . It comes with a snapdragon, an adreno 330 and 3 gb of Ram. Look at the local pricing and for a detailed review on this website. In the meantime the prices of S5 will also come down. There is a 15-20 percent cash back for Citibank card users. Look into it.

Whatever differences are there between the two versions of the s5 should not make any perceptible difference in 80 percent of the applications & games in the coming year but if you are a demanding user with a penchant for the latest HD games than the Adreno 330 based set will be the better bet for the future.

If you are paying top dollar ie a premium price than you should get the best product.

Lastly, IMO, as stated before, it also depends on how long you intend to use this product. If more than an year, say 2-3 years , than a 3 gb Sony with an adreno chipset will afford you a better experience.

if only for an year, than the S4 now between 28.5-30k is a good buy.

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2014If your information is only based on benchmarks then that's... moreDon't talk nonsense & belittle others if you are unable to come up with specific benchmarks/statistics/figures to prove your point.Such assertions in the absence of proof only demonstrates a juvenile nature & myopic outlook

Benchmarks are important , a point buttressed by the fact that even phone companies & review sites including this one use them to show how the phones match up to the competition.

If these differences, which you in your limited wisdom termed insignificant, weren't so important, perhaps there would be no product differentiation between various brands. In Such a situation, there would be no incentive in choosing the latest model of one brand over the other.

A difference of atleast 25 percent in performance is significant and cannot be ignored as trivial.

Ironically ,I have owned an international version of the S3 ( An exynos/1gb ram/Mali-400) and have also had an opportunity to use the european & US version of the s3 (snapdragon/2gb ram/Adreno 225) . The latter was much smoother.

The international version of S3 has 768 MB (1 gb version) of free RAM which mars the experience in daily usage. Further the mali 400
sometimes proves deficient in high end gaming.

How all this translates into practical considerations is solely dependent on an individual's consideration.

I have made my point many times over. How you use your phone and where you spent your money is your own prerogative.
Suffice to say -Choose to ignore the inevitable at your own peril
