I purchased a Samsung S5 from a Vodacom store in Bloemfontein. After three weeks the screen turned completely black. The store eventually said that they will replace the handset with an equivalent phone as the S5 has been discontinued. What phone would be a an equivalent or better phone?

hessam, 26 May 2015S5 or A7 ? which one ? why?S5 because its flagship , waterproof, plastic body(cheaper), heart rate scensor, better video cam, better fingerprint scensor

let me just tell you something and take it seriously !
After S5 released the original s5 It was expensive for poor people,they Modified it by removing its all special features(indeed you know them)and created this Kids toy and called it s5 plus to encourage poors buy it.
if i'm wrong please correct that for me.

hessam, 26 May 2015S5 or A7 ? which one ? why?This obviously. The a7 has horrible apecs compared to this(worse CPU and GPU).

The phone depends on what model you have. Its different for every country or region. Some S5 comes with Exynos and some with Qualcomm. This affects their performances greatly and the ram as well.

s5 lte+ has qualcomm (adreno 420) gpu
s5 prime has 3gigs of ram & adreno 420
each gpu shares different memory
in s4 it is exynos quad with mali
s4 lte it is qualcomm 600/800 adreno330
therefore it shares different amount of ram and show different capacity remaining ran

Hi Dear friends
I have a question about exact number of galaxy s5 total ram. The guys who own this handset please hele me know it.
For example my phone sony z1c that is called a phone with 2 gig ram, has a real exact number of 1705 megabytes toral ram. Another phone with 2 gig ram may have a real axact ram number of 1866 megabyte.
I need this exact number to compare it to ordinary galaxy s5's total ram to see if s5 plus has a little bit more ram or not. maybe only 100 megabytes for example.
Since many experts think s5 suffers of low system ram. A little bit more ram on s5 plus means it to be a more reasonable phone to be considered for my future phone.
Because everybody knows about lags on galaxy s5 and so many experts think more ram could help solve this Issue.
Please help me and afer installing cpu-z software inform us about its exact total ram.

i have this phone 1 week now i-m very satisfied about battery life there is no lag as in g900f still no lollipop though..very fast just like htc m8 far better battery life ..

This version of Samsung s... morei have this phone. as far as battery is concerned it lasts one complete day it took 6-7 hours screen on using data connection on 2g singnal (as i live in week singnal areas) i think it is enough i used maps, camera, auto screen brightness, chrome and upto 2hours voice calls messaging during complete battery cycle (from 100 to 6%) total of 19 hours. i m satisfied by its battery (sorry for my bad english)
