Samsung Galaxy S5 to get Android 5.0.2 update this month

01 June, 2015

The Android 5.0.2 update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900) will be rolling out early this month. The revelation was made by Australian carrier Optus on its website (see image below).

It's worth noting that the June time frame was mentioned by Optus while the update was being tested - the testing is complete now. The update is expected to bring bug fixes as well as performance improvements.

This comes just weeks after the South Korean company said that it would roll out micro-updates to its devices facing Lollipop update issues. It is, however, not yet known if and when other Samsung devices that have been updated to Lollipop will get the same update.
