I'm currently using Team Leader Rom 1.3 - gingerbread.
I tried updating it to ICS but SMS is only limited to 80 characters.

1.> After upgrade to Team Leader 1.3, will ... moreUpdating to Team Leader 1.3 will definitely resolve the 80 character limit. Once you have successfully installed this ROM, you will need to download Titanium Pro. It will help you remove the unwanted apps (bloatware).
Regarding the keyboard, you will need to download a new one. The keyboard that came with this Team Leader ROM isn't great.
