Overall, very happy with device...

Turned off Bluetooth/Wifi and left Display at 50%, so I have about a day & quarter under typical use (about 2-3 calls, 20+ text msgs and continuous sync of Gmail & work email via TouchDown along with the casual web browsing & VPN connectivity into work websites)
Surprised that there is no option for NFC or to turn off the LTE or 3G radios...hopefully the Android ICS update will fix those options.

In downtown San Jose, CA using SpeedTest.net (tower connecting to is in San Francisco, CA)
Ping: 43ms
Download: 24.01 Mbps
Upload: 12.30 Mbps

This is faster than my basic cable modem!

I switched from an iPhone 4 to this recently. As expected of an SGS2 variant smartphone, it is light, well designed, and fast despite the bloat.

But I'm rather annoyed that Samsung refuses to give me a data toggle. They did the same thing on the Captivate. Thanks to LTE, I get 5 hours of battery life on my typical usage (vs 12-13 hours on the iPhone 4)...and I don't even do anything that requires 5Mbps (LTE speed in my area).

Despite the above benefits, I wasn't too happy with the Skyrocket at first, but after flashing a new ROM on it, it improved greatly. The new ROM looks better, gets better battery life, NFC is activated, and it gives me a data toggle.

I thought I might regret giving up the iPhone 4, but the Skyrocket is serving me really well. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of getting one!

AnonD-39455, 26 Jan 2012hi guys i am Confused between LG Optimus 4G LTE and Samsung... moreEvery LTE phone burns battery. and so far there is any news specific vendor or phone last better than others. some phone could be weaker battery spec but LG Nitro HD battery goes long enough to use. So Samsung Skyrocket will do as well.

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2011this is a great phone except for when your trying to listen... moreI to found the keyboard keys too small so i downloaded an app that keys are bigger and it works great.Ive have the last 3 generatios of iphone and i just couldnt stand the confinement not being able to customise my phone and not being able to change the battery any longer.Sure any smart phone is going to eat batteries, but at least make where i can.change the battery. So i got rid of the iphone 4s and went to the droid,,best thing i ever did!Plus way bigger screen for viewing apple needs to step it up next generation for me to ever consider going back.

I have concluded that this phone does not have Gorilla Glass. The Corning site advertises that the SGS2 has it but not the Skyrocket. Check out my video of a scratch test I did.
