Hechh , 19 Feb 2024I completely agree, That would be just Perfect ! I hope Sam... moreI would honestly highly doubt it, if you're saying Samsung should sell or could sell a, let's say 8.7" tablet with S Series performance for the price of this.

I'd like to see Samsung do a 8.7" S -Series tablet. Maybe one like the S-Series fe to help keep the cost down.

I recently purchased a S9 11" wi-fi for myself. I pre-ordered it, came with S-Pen and the keyboard cover. I feel this tab is too small for a keyboard cover.

I got my dad a S9FE5G for probably about $400. That was a out as cheap as I could find one. It's got 6gb/128gb RAM/ROM. It also doesn't have the Snapdragon processor, any of the 3. It has the Exynos1380. I'm not a gamer, so I don't notice any difference in the processors. The main difference is the fe has an LCD screen, while the S9 11" has an AMOLED screen. Again, I can't t see the difference.

    If I did it over, I'd get 2 S9fe's.

As for the 8.7" "S-Series" I would think more along the lines of the fe. Not quite "top of the line" but a step above the A-Series. I'd say the Exynos processor, 6/128, with an LCD screen. I'd pay $400.

      One not so cool discovery.
I've noticed a worse performance for decoding MPEG4 AVC than for the Tab A8 (2019).
In playback power usage for HEVC video they are even but for the old MPEG4-AVC the A9 performs 50% worse at the same brightness settings, resulting in 18% power draw in 2h.
      The Tab A8 (2019) gets along with 12% for MPEG4-AVC in 2h.
Before I enabled power saving the A9 (2023) even consumed 25% of the battery under MPEG4-AVC in 2h....

I have it now for 2 days. Biggest surprise for me is currently, compared to the Tab A8 (2019), how the speakers have improved. For side-firing speakers, I'm astonished, how clear the music sounds, when you looking straight at the tablet, it almost sounds like the speakers aiming right for your head, even though it looses the punch in almost all under 1000Hz to the Tab A8 (2019).
Also I've noticed that compared to the Tab A8 (2019) the color reproduction seems to a bit more neutral, while the Tab A8 (2019) had a very slight greenish tint, this one A9 (2023) has better reds. Also the backlight seems to have improved a tiny bit, maybe the count of backlight LEDs was slightly improved (tested under maximum brightness), there are less spots where colors fall off into undistinguishable colorless blacks.
And compared to the (Tab A8 2019) the weight distribution is far superior, when you lifting it one handed, it feel like a difference of 50g, even though its only like 20g lighter 344g vs 326g.
If I notice anything more I'll write it down.

Anonymous, 13 Feb 2024No issues with ghost touches here. I'm pretty happy... moreI have bought it & been using it for 4 days now. I found some multi touch issues but only when playing games. I've been playing same games in several other Samsung Galaxy products, but I only find these issues in Tab A9 and Tab A9+.

I'm pretty happy with it overall. It's a nice tablet for the price I paid (effectively less than 100 euro). The chipset is sluggish and the display unimpressive but again, for the price it's fine.

It's really stupid that it's still not received the Android 14 upgrade though. It should have launched with that because when it came out Android 14 had been released for months,

James, 12 Feb 2024S Pen for S series only Actually there was an S pen included with "Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 & S Pen (2019)".
But for this model (Galaxy Tab A9), there is no S pen included & it's not even compatible with Samsung S pen, so we have to use universal stylus from other brand.

Kingchi, 07 Feb 2024It will be interesting if Samsung can release small sized t... moreIt will never happen because Google couldn't care less about developing tablet features for Android. As such majority consumers looking for small tablets do it only as a throwaway tablet for their kids, and as such they demand cheap price and basic spec. It's good enough that Samsung finally graduate the small Tab from eMMC to UFS.

It will be interesting if Samsung can release small sized tablets that will have all the bells and whistles of the Tab S flagship models and to be sold at the same price point. This will cater to consumers who place a premium value on form factor and are not price sensitive. I believe that will be a win-win for Samsung.
