Bought it on Black Friday, while it's not perfect, screem resolution my only real complain, compared to new models, it's perfect for reading my school textbooks, web surfing and with a BT keyboard, works forlite office docs school papers.
Pros.
Price (cheaper ones had either worse specs or worse, no future os updating )
S-pen is useful.
2gb ram
Will get 6.0 update.
Cons.
Screen resolution.

The tab is very sweet, perfect size for the s pen with a mouse pointer. The battery is superb and have not had any issue with the device

I got my Tab A 8.0 LTE with an S Pen a few days ago, and so far I am enjoying it. The 160ppi irks me a bit as it is quite noticeable, I have a phone with 297ppi and there is a big difference. Even if there was an available 9.7" version (there wasn't one) I would still have opted for the 8.0" because of the even more pronounced pixelation. Still I find the screen as something I'll get used to. Otherwise, screen is good with good colors and viewing angles. The S Pen is something good to have. Performance is good, 2GB of RAM is good enough for multitasking, games run fine, and the UI is smooth. As for battery life, I got 8 hours of screen on time until it hit 15%. Both the front and rear camera are good enough for a 2MP and 5MP camera respectively. A good tablet, the ppi is intolerable for some but is good nonetheless. If you have a better budget, I suggest getting the better Tab S2 but for those who doesn't, this will do you guys just fine.

I got the 8.0 with s pen this week. i gotta say its a pretty decent tablet despite its screen resolution. if youre coming from a high end screen like 1080p, yes , you may able to differentiate it but you will adapt to you after time and its not that bad. i say just use for casual consumption. i chose 8 inch cause the size is compact . i feel 9.7 is too big.
for the s pen , i dont see myself using it much cause i have a note 3. its basically the same thing but its a good thing to have. the expandable storage is good. i torrent all my movies.
my only small downfall is the speaker placement. when you hold it in horizontally , you right hand can easily cover it and you will notice it immediately. i dont know why Samsung place it there and if you are laying on bed , if you place the tab vertically on your body , the speaker can be covered.

The windows app store is full of cheap copies that don't always work like their android counterparts. Windows has its advantages but they are so few that I don't think I'll try another windows phone soon. Android rules because its better and more refined. Microsoft needs to refine windows a lot more before it can compete seriously. I suppose that's why Nokia ditched them. And is now developing an android phone
