polish princess, 22 May 2023is it worth getting this over the a8? or is is not much of ... moreIt's so much better than the a8: processor, screen, software, build quality... And it's not even that much more expensive. Actually in some stores, the a8 64-4gb is more expensive than the s6 lite 2022. Even the s6 lite 2020 is way better than the a8.

Coming from using a 90hz phone, do you think it will be a good experience using this 60hz tablet?

polish princess, 22 May 2023is it worth getting this over the a8? or is is not much of ... moreIt is worth. However I find it quite difficult to find covers of good quality and the official one is quite expensive. And finally just in case, there's no official cover with keyboard for it.

is it worth getting this over the a8? or is is not much of an upgrade? thanks

Anonymous, 07 May 2023What about s6lite vs ipad 9th gen, What I am liking about... moreI have each of my feet in different ecosystems right now, and I decided to go for the S6 Lite because the 128GB model was on sale for the same price as the 64GB iPad (2021). On the other foot, I have an iPhone SE (2022), which we can all agree isn't that good of a value (64GB base model is a crime, regardless of the A15 Bionic) but I got a comically good deal so I'm pretty happy with it. It has performance when I need it and when I don't, it's efficient enough that the tiny battery still manages to outlast my S10e when browsing Reddit.

Anyway, the SD 720G is "good enough," I would say. There's some occasional stutters, but nothing that I would consider frustrating. Sure, it's not very powerful. In fact, streaming YouTube at 4K is a struggle for it (but weirdly enough, it doesn't even break a sweat at 1440p60 HDR; the device stays completely cool to the touch. I wonder if it's some sort of limitation with how high a resolution the SD 720G can hardware decode or something). But, as a note-taking and streaming device it works sufficiently. Actually, as of the latest updates (and especially after making sure all the Google Play system updates are installed, which you have to do manually, one by one, with a reboot after each update), app transitions have gotten noticeably smoother. Previously, it would stutter every time you use the gesture to close out of the app. It's much more graceful now, only having the occasional dropped frame.

Samsung Notes is just OK. It can take notes just fine but when you try to export it as PDF, all the nice vector lines that look smooth when you zoom in with Samsung Notes turns pixelated when you view that PDF in another app. Ideally, it should continue looking smooth in other PDF apps, PDF is capable of vector graphics. Said other app is perfectly capable of rendering vector lines because other PDFs that aren't from Samsung Notes have sharp lines no matter how far you zoom in.

Can't comment on Dex because I don't think a desktop layout would work great on a touchscreen device. Otherwise I would've gotten a used Surface tablet that runs Windows, which is infinitely more versatile in terms of what I can do on it (especially visual novels, I've been getting into those). The normal One UI tablet interface is powerful enough for me.

G, 04 Dec 2022I agree with you but your talking about vs a midrange table... moreWhat about s6lite vs ipad 9th gen,
What I am liking about this tab:
            1. Spen no need to charge etc, also light weight and better.
            2. Dex mode looks cool and more productive.
            3. External storage option
            4. I have Android ecosystem also Samsung phone so better connectivity.
            5. Better pricing, getting it at 245$ 64gb vs ipad 320$ with need to buy apple pencil separately, or any cheap alternative.
            6. Sam notes is just grt.

Why want to go for ipad:
            1. Processing power is big jump, I am not sure abou this 720g processor and how it'll handle serious note taking like for longer term.l, also will it get slower with time.
            2. Polished ui with no lag.
            3. Investing in anything means atleast 4-5 yrs,so that way this is grt.

            Guys, these r tough ones.

-apple pencils also can be used without Bluetooth.

-you can do that too with an apple pencil too.

''4. I'm not professional, I don't know how to put it. But drawing and writing on s pen just feels better, more like writing on a real piece of paper.''
                    - I don't think that matters, to be honest, since I use paper-like tempered glass and it is cheap, but I can see the advantage since paper tempered glass reduces screen quality.

''Samsung's S pen was powered by Wacom's emr technology since 2011, which just blows apple's self-developed capacitive stylus out in the air.''
-that sounds interesting, are you using this device(s6lite)? or the other series?

You are basically buying it for the free S pen, cheaper samsung tablet variants don't have s pen included(tab A8, A7, A7 lite). its note taking and drawing experience is just unmatched in its class(way better than ipad 9/10 + ap pencil). The performance is just, uh, "fine," as long as you manage your expectation. The snd 720g and 4gb ram should manage to do browsing, media and even some light gaming, any modern 3d games would push it out of its limit and would start to lag and stutter.

It falls far short of expectations, is extremely slow takes around 2mins on average to load an app. A lot of messing around to get to where you want in settings, paid AU$699 from jb hifi in Western Australia . No it does not come with a cover. A pig n' a poke is the polite description. Junk is more accurate.

I had the 2020 one and recently bought the 2022, the chipset on this model is a nice upgrade, it's much faster. Also, the screen looks sharper than the previous model, you can see that if you install geekbench, the logo has much more definition on the 2022 one. And mine already has android 13 out of the box, so probably it will have android 16 in 2026. The sticker on the back says 23.01, so maybe only the recent ones out of the factory have android 13.
