Yeah for my usage this kind of phone is actually gimmick-ish y'know, but it's not rare to see some iPhone girl really wants this kind of phone because it's unique.

Just like the supposed processor upgrade from the s21 was supposed to compensate for the s22 smaller battery. But it didn't and the s22 battery life is terrible. they remodeled it for the s23 to increase battery size again. The optimization didn't help very much for the s22.

Samsung is quite good at managing battery life so I'm pretty sure this would last longer than the other two.

DarlingYext, 05 May 2023Unfortunatelly Samsung will sell better, because of brand r... more
Definitely the Samsung's will sell better for these 3 main reason and in order:
                            1. Wider international carrier support for contractural deals to end consumers:
                            - cheaper for anyone in UK, Asia, Europe, North & South America to get a Samsung of any kind at the BEST and lowest price. Which keeps dropping throughout the carrier deal life-span. Also THE highest price for trade-ins accepted for the previous year's model: nobody comes close!

                            2. Warranty coverage: Original people went to Samsung earlier on because they know so many of a smartphone parts THEY make and sell to the competition - least cost for Samsung to repair, least likely to go out of business some 14yrs ago. Now warranty coverage keeps them KING (along with design partnership/collaborations for uniqueness: Thom Browne one example that we missed on the version 4).

                            3. Brand name recognition. Since they've established what you know you're getting most users on Android ARE Samsung users and will stick to what they know and enjoy and ease of use.

I sincerely hope all the UI developers with custom clean and visually appealing ROMs create some really sweet UI's that are super fast an support all the mid-to-top tier software expected for other bar AndroidOS phones! no more have stepping and being slaves to limited vision of employee drones working for their employer bowing down.

Motorola created the category for Android phones to be flip. The also created the category for clamshell (what we now call flip) phones with the StarTAC way back! (many of you probably weren't even born to see exclusive sales pitch during international auto show weekend in key cities priced at over $2000 in the mid-late 80's when phones themselves barely were used beyond real playboys and executives where the phone cost just $400 but a 2 mins local call cost you $10. Nationwide call for 2min - $30 and internationally (with no limits just keep on talking and keep on billing; that's right talking no 2900baud data - ??'s don't worry lol) would have you paying your yearly bonus to pay it off!

The achilles heel will ALWAYS be the folding bendable screen!
                                - initially it was the crease and Motorola solved that issue using tear-shaped bend. Oppo improved that, now Samsung is learning.
                                - Next was longevity of folds from lower and higher temperatures that Oppo raised the bare on: 400,000 folds, 200,000 buttons mashed, and surviving 1.5 meter drops more than 30 times.

Opposition figured out the proper orientation for outer display means developers can pretty much shrink their apps to fit the dimensions, yet considering the larger Razr+/40 Ultra and soon Flip 5 wide-outer screen I don't think Oppo's orientation can remain relevant. UNLESS the top end cameras stay on the hinge facing outward when open/closed? Hmmm.

now you begin to see the issues with ever improving this flip design very closing reaching its peak: to the point were only fashion will determine who's king.

Rollable's are THE future - better protection on the screen when a bit more active lifestyle - not just for the upper echelon with deep pockets and connections. Soon it'll really be AR glasses and a high powered long lasting watch - 14yrs from now that's all you'll see - with true wireless headsets.

Think of it this way: Car Internal combustable engines.
There are at least 4 standards: typical 4-stroke, 2-stroke, Wankel, and Miller-cycle. All combust standard gasoline in slightly different ways giving the engine different characteristics and by the design of the total car different results.

Standard 4 -stroke is ubiquitous and has continually and steadily evolved increasingly getting better fuel mileage every 2 decades - despite 4x since 1920's that they'd be extentinct due to poor fuel mileage and high cost at the pumps (inflation or not).

Miller - I have no clue only 1 car ever made it to production and was cut in 4yrs by Mazda. (Wankel engines Mazda is the only one with global license to build them).

Wankel gave hi-RPM's, high horse-power, low torque, and at 1.2/1.3L displacement is THE smallest in a production car. Faults: burned engine oil excessively (it was a crisis all on its own) and terrible fuel efficiency. The latter in the 1980s and 1990's was solved by Mazda using a Turbo-charger (1) and Sequantial Dual Turbo - but due to the design of it's engine seals and high RPMs engine oil burning was an issue yet to be resolved. Benefits: it allowed Mazda ability to have super light road cars for international races ... but

59th 24 Hours of Le Mans: Mazda was not the favourite to win, but the three Mazdas started 19th (No. 55), 23rd (No. 18) and 30th (No. 56), despite being the 12th, 17th and 24th fastest qualifiers respectively. At the last pit-stop, Herbert asked to stay in the car, and went on to take the 787B across the finish line first, completing 362 laps and covering 4,932.2 km (both new records for the recently modified circuit). The two other cars finished sixth (No. 18) and eighth (No. 56). The winning car ran without a hitch apart from a blown headlamp bulb and a precautionary rear wheel bearing change on the driver's side of the car, when a regular check during a pit-stop showed it to be overheating slightly.

Why the analogy? To show you unoquivacally that what is newer does NOT always equate to what is better! Megapixels ALONE in camera's is not everything ... the glass lens and the coating make for a MUCH more important factor as well as software evolved using the same older components.

                                  This is the way.

The thing that annoys me the most with Samsung about all this new foldable phones is they make and then put low megapixels on it . How would a high phone as this have a 12 12 mp and one 10mp . It's absolutely nonsense . Minimum requirements should be 16 16 mp rear or a single 32 or single 48 while the selfie should be nothing less than 16mp. And battery should not be less than 4500mah. Sam and Sung should wake up
