I really like the form factor. What is missing for a consumer like me is the camera setup found on the s24 ultra.

How cool would be this form factor with a great camera setup?

Is there room for a Flip 6 Ultra?

Droid Terminator, 07 Aug 2024How can you use a phone for 7 years, after 2 years I feel l... moreIt might buy a new phone after two or three years. I might not. I've got the money to do what I want. I like knowing that I won't have to if I don't want to. I couldn't care less about gaming performance or great pictures. Good pictures are fine and I never game on phones, so all the stuff you bought up won't matter to me. I do use apps, but they will be updated just as the software is over the seven year period.

I have the chance to pay the 12/512 version only 630€...I'm really intrigued by the fact I can shoot selfies using also the main camera. I have a toddler girl, so I plan to do lots of pics and videos when she grows up...are the videos good

I'm also an avid youtube and streaming user (I have Netflix, prime, disney plus, etc...) and I'm not sure if it is the phone for me cause of the crease on the display...is it very noticeable? I've checked one inside a phone shop but I couldn't really understand because lights inside were veeery bright and cold...And also the 25w charge speed...I mean my Tab S9 + has 45w charging speed! I don't plan to play games on the flip 6 cause I have the tablet for it. Otherwise I shall wait for the s25 plus next year because every other premium phone with Snapdragon 8 gen 3 either have curved borders (which I hate) or have some issues like foggy lenses of the Xiaomi 14.... I have a Mate 10 pro that I bought since day one, but the battery is not good anymore :(

HelioG42069, 14 Aug 2024Just because you get bored doesn't mean you have to up... moreI heard somewhere (I think mkbhd on YT) that the software based slow down is to keep the device running on par with the remaining battery health. So if the battery life is like 80% it would make sense to not cause exponential battery health reduction by still running the device as it has 100% battery health. And changing the battery to a new one will get the device back to running like new (albeit other components also wear somewhat of course and may see maximum performance of say 95% of brand new)

                        Another phone I won't be buying 💯💯💯

Droid Terminator, 07 Aug 2024How can you use a phone for 7 years, after 2 years I feel l... moreJust because you get bored doesn't mean you have to upgrade it, we're genuinely getting phones that can last those 7 years without even slowing down... Of course they wouldn't if manufacturers didn't slow them down on purpose with updates and we were to actually take care of our phones but that's not the point I'm trying to make.

Some people may argue that phones haven't innovated for a long time and i kinda agree but at the same time if you buy a S24 Ultra or iPhone 15 Pro Max or any good flagship as a whole... Hell even the Z Flip 6, it's guaranteed that you'll be able to use it for a long time and it'll serve you well, the hardware used in phones these days is genuinely great and less and less people would actually have to upgrade every few years.... If it weren't for manufacturers with those purposeful updates! Damn it!

My Flip 6 could easily last a day to a day and half of usage than my Flip 3. As for the selfie camera, you can either use the inner camera, and the outer cameras. Both take great pictures, both it's just common sense to use the outer cameras since the specs of the outer camera is better than the inner one.

Anonymous, 26 Jul 2024Will this phone physically last 7 years? Very few will.Samsung says it will. I don't see why it won't unless you drop it a lot. I have a Samsung Experience Shop near me that will change my battery out when it starts to degrade.

Droid Terminator, 07 Aug 2024How can you use a phone for 7 years, after 2 years I feel l... moreThat's you. I still have a Samsung Galaxy S5 in the house. I don't use it, but I have it. My CPU will work just fine for me. I never game on my phones. I have a laptop for that. I always use my phones with Battery Saver on, so my CPU is reduced anyway. I have a Samsung Experience store near me to change out the battery after about three years or so and I'll still be getting security updates. If I do get bored with the Flip 6 after a few years, I'll just buy something else and pass the Flip 6 on to a family member that wants it. No big deal. It's nice knowing I won't be FORCED to update after a few years as updates will be coming for a LONG time.
