Yes, the Gear S2 pairs with smartphones running Android 4.4 and higher with over 1.5GB RAM, iOS 9.0 and later, and smartphones iPhone 5 and newer. Here is the official list of compatible phones from Samsung: http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/gear-...

Only if you get the 3G; it comes with a speaker and an eSIM for making calls (and is also why it is a little bit thicker), whereas the cheaper bluetooth only version of the Gear S2 does not.

Unfortunately no, the Samsung Core Prime only has 1GB of RAM, instead of the minimum 1.5GB needed by the Gear S2.
