What i mean is us geeks expect the nexus to be the peek of tech and were a lot dissappointed with nexus s with it been out of date even before release..But as you say the nexus s is still capable in todays smartfone era and its about being first with the lataest Android NOT PERHAPS latest spec..

callum, 12 Jul 2011Love this developer smartphone but when is Nexus 3 out?I have the Nexus S and I agree, it's very good, arguably one of the best in the Android camp, considering it's pure Google. I second what others said: of all phones, everything else equal, apps will work best on this. I develop occasionaly for the Market and I use my Nexus S to do so.
About the next Nexus phone, that will be the Nexus Prime. I'm guessing they will launch it as soon as they release Android 4 ("Ice Cream Sandwich") later this year, Q3/Q4... phone probably coming in Q4 I'd guess, but don't hold your breath.
Keep in mind that the Nexus phones are not for competition, it's to spur innovation (to set the bar high enough for others) in the Android field. Depending on what is available in ICS/4, I wouldn't be shocked (but chances are dim) if they just upgrade the Nexus S. It's a good hardware with lots of promising technologies that are not explored entirely yet (case in point: NFC). But, chances are they will probably release one with updated hardware. After all, the Market is becoming more and more evolved, and even the Nexus S is starting to become slow to develop and debug some of the top-tiered games available there. And those people need a developer platform.
Google it, there is plenty of info about the rumours surrounding the Nexus Prime.

Just because this is pure google you can still sport it up with apps from the market,,i have the galaxy s music player apk which i hope will work on here giving me concert hall setting and DNSe..It is then a galaxy s with flash albeit with lower resolution video recording.

AnonD-9100, 02 Jul 2011Can anyone help me to choose between desire hd, nexus s r t... moremy friend is using the desire HD. I have the nexus S, and i'v played around with dell streak.
the desire HD seems ok actually. its just too big for me though. if you like huge screen then maybe you'll like this. although Nexus S screen clarity is much better. desire HD's screen looks washed out and pale. and please note this doesnt have front facing camera, so if you're after video calling, this is not for you.
Dell streak seems ok too but if desire HD is too big for me, this one is gigantic. i cant carry a phone this big everyday. if you dont mind that, this is for you I guess. but dell streak's specs is kinda outdated already.
nexus S is perfect. im loving this phone everyday. the advantage of this is it's pure google so you get the important software updates first than any other phone. and almost all apps in the Android Market works for it with no problem because most developers use this phone to program their app since its pure android. Please note though that it doesn't have a memory card slot. only the 16gb internal. which is not a problem for me coz 8gb is enough for my use, dont know with yours. and it doesnt have a sim toolkit app where you can access your SIM card's built in menus like for banking maybe.

I got a big problem with my Nexus S. My phone is disconnecting from google servers and services a lot. The signal bars changing from green to white many times. When this happens push notofications not work such as email or gTalk.

The Nexus S is an interesting phone. It is the sequel to Google and HTC’s Nexus One (incorrectly regarded as a flop) and like the iPhone 4 it sets the bar for the current generation of smart phones.
i see it at

and bought this phone on its release day, so I am very familiar with what it can do. I came from using a Nokia N900 Unlocked Phone/Mobile Computer with 3.5-Inch Touchscreen, QWERTY, 5 MP Camera, Maemo Browser, 32 GB–U.S. Version with Full Warranty which was another great unlocked phone. But this year alone has seen a lot of improvements in what phones can do

for those in the US if you have a citibank credit card and you have this phone and your provider is sprint, you can actually register your card to this phone through google wallet. you dont have to bring your card with you, just make sure to check on the paypass logo in merchant stores and you can use this phone, just scan it through their terminal and its presto! card is safe and you will be able to purchase things that you need without being worried coz you'll be asked the PIN everytime you use it. go for this phone! it has a lot of functions! =)
