I hope this time around Google has a better worldwide distribution channel. I'd like to buy this phone at my local phone shop, not via internet.

samsung is the only hardware supplier therefore all the OS updates will be done by Google. Just hope that Google puts this phone into a right set of orders so that everybody will be happy in the end LOL :)

The Nexus One is a very durable phone and well designed however it has its issues such as switching between edge and 3g problems. The Nexus S I expect will be the best phone on the market. Samsungs galaxy s phones are some of the best phones on the market so i dont know why people keep putting them down. I was going to buy the vibrant but i dont like carrier phones and i was turned off by Tmobile opting to carry it without a front facing cam. Being able to get timely updates of android will be my biggest reason for getting this phone. I have seen conflicting specs about this phone so i cant judge the leaks but going by googles record its going to be special. if it will have a dual core processor like some rumors suggest then this phone will be ahead of all.

It's a pity people do not recognize the Hardware capabilities of Samsung. Not only that, but most are also ignorant of the fact that since it's a Google phone, it will not carry the Samsung tag.
Samsung will supply the hardware piece to Google, and Google will be solely responsible for updating the software on the phone, not Samsung.
Please make sure you research a lot before blatantly posting comments.

Hope google dont mess it up this time by making Nexus S available only on Google online store.

Yes, this phone is for Google (Nexus S or 2). Look at the picture of Google CEO Schmidt holds up an unannounced Android phone at "Web 2.0 Summit" at the Palace Hotel in downtown San Francisco. You'll definitely know they are the same phone (shape and curve) if u compare this one with Schmidt's unannounced phone!!!
Check it out this web link!

Oh please Samsung is the best deal right now
Can't you see there are too many problems and issue for HTC devices? Enough with HTC
And Sony Ericsson? Look what happen to poor X10
But I cannot agree more with you about spec sheet
The next Nexus phone has to be a rock phone with the highest tech spec by the time it will be release

Sadly Samsung has zero credibility in Android support capability. Samsung engineer fixing android on their handsets is akin to a grade 1 pupil trying to solve integral calculus, it will take years and there's no guarantee that the answer will be right.
