Samsung has shipped 20 million Galaxy S4 units already

03 July, 2013

Despite reports (which were denied) of Samsung cutting down orders for Galaxy S4 parts, the company's flagship is selling very well – Yonhap News is reporting that the tech giant had shipped 20 million units by the end of June. The Galaxy S4 hit the 10 million mark in late May, so it appears the demand isn't slowing down at all.

Its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S III took about 100 days to get to 20 million, so the galaxy S4 is selling 1.7 times faster. This speed reportedly put the Galaxy S4 at the #1 position in shipments for Q2 this year.

Analysts have predicted that the S4 will sell 80 million units this year, beating the 60 million achievement of the Galaxy S III.

There's a souped up version of the Galaxy S4 that came out recently, the Galaxy S4 LTE-A with a Snapdragon 800 chipset and LTE-Advanced connectivity. It's available only in South Korea for now, but we wonder how it will affect sales numbers if it sees a worldwide release.
