have a look at it's spec page, you'll see that it has s60 v3.0UI meaning the version is 3rd edition.

Honestly speaking my samsung battery seems to be working fine for years and i nvr really got a hot battery for those who complains, maybe u guys got the fake i think =P

i don't have any reaction with that statement except the last sentence... hey dude SE owns UIQ and they have their development team to develop that platform so no need for SE to use S60 as it will cost them more than using their own. and also the UIQ 3.1 is a non-touchscreen version that directly competes with S60 FP-2 from nokia's S60. anyway the SE company didn't leave the touchscreen UI as the SE is readying the release of the new UIQ phone and successor of the M600 based on the same UIQ 3 with better specs and updates.

to sabbir,, samsung units also get hot suggesting that most of samsungs units are wasting battery in heat loss,,this is true and leads me to believe that samsung use cheap electronic using high tolerance electronics.This may not mean a lot to people but electronics that have low tolerance factors i.e. +/- 2% are costly but are better at battery life being near to the spec the engineer states in the design..and on another point samsung have brought out a camcorder with 34x zoom and all was well on QVC shopping channel till the presenter said it had a 40 minute real life battery but the specs said 1hr 20mins,,SO yes samsung excels itself but to me i think "yeah" so wat your battery life is always garaunteed to be rubbish

You really can't say that this is better than N72 since its symbian isn't that advance and seems to have not reached the 3rd edition, so if that was true than expect having the interface of 6600 or 3650

this phone may be symbion based, but with no 3g, and no edge capabilities it's not going to be a very successful number unless it's introduced as a low end phone for the market, hopefully samsung won't make the buying price too high or companies won't want it!
perhaps it has some organisational features, but cmon samsung, we want you to take a step forward not two steps back!

Ha, LG KS10 is mutch better. If this Samsung runs win mobile it will be perfect but with this old and fully of bugs OS this phone will die before it's review!

to the guy which is complaining about tutch screen; do all nokia smartphones have a tutch screen? please compare this with a N72 => much better!

it seems to be a good one and the best thing about it is the large screen and the Symbian OS series 60.as U know this is the same software used in nokia 6600 amd u kan easily find all kind of applications u want. the logo of sasmsung insures me that the screen and media apps will be high class. enjoy it

simple, slim, nice phone. i dont need fm radio, as long as mp3 player is there, and i dont need wi-fi, coz laptop is better with wi-fi, all i need is very good screen, symbian S60 and long lasting battery...(plus big space for my songs)

Samsung been producing superb slider mobiles but its the Fatures on there mobiles that let people down,an do not seem to be challenging Sony Ericsson an Nokia in Europe,Just hope this ones not another let down by them

wonder why samsung's battery so poor! sometimes even they don't mention about their battery in the specifications. samsung should take care about this first. poor power system means poor phone.

Ic...hmmm I've heard soem people saying those touch sensitive buttons are extremely sensitive.
Good news is that, the way samsung is adding more S60 models in their profile, I'm sure there will be more to come. Cheers!!
