I'v been using this mobile for the past one month. No such crash problems.This is a killer buy if you are living in india for 12.5k.
Pros:
1)3.2" Capacitive touchscreen(Touch is very senditive,very impressive)
2)800 Mhz processor and DIVX playback. I had no problem playing a 720p movie file(infact its DivX certified phone).
3)Google applications like gmail,orkut and also face book,my space etc plus the Android Market with tonnes of applications(you will know what i mean once you connect urself to the market)
4)Samsung has announced an update to 2.1.
5)Using GPS was a pleasure on this phone.
Cons:
1)Android 1.5 doesnt have bluetooth file transfer.
bluetooth can be used only for headset.
2)Android 1.5 supports only 65k colors but the hardware is capable of 16M.
3)Samsung PC suite can be used only for updating the phone which means you cannot sync your phone with PC.
4)The camera doesnt have a flash and its just point and shoot. Nothing more, no modes,no options but has auto focus.
If you can digest all these shortcomings for a shorter time until the update arrives(Hope samsung fullfills its promise & yes the update overcomes all this short comings),then you can very well buy this phone!

Just dump your divx movies to your SDCARD. then go to
menu->galleries->allvideos. There you can find your movies(Android scans the card and shows up all the videos in that folder).Voila!!!!

Aadil Tanwar, 16 Apr 2010This is the most pethatic phone...Guy don't go for this one... moremay be you picked up a brick from grey market cos for the phone is gr8 have been using it for week no lag even when i play videos of 720p and it does have 800Mhz why cant all you nokia lovers wait for the 2.1 update and than tell me a phone for 12.5 k with all that this has to offer why would any one pay more for same thing and if you think none of the phone with android 1.5/2 come for less than 22k

Another poo android phone no flash support on the web so only get the mobile web. I'll stick with my n900 i think.

This is the most pethatic phone...Guy don't go for this one...no multi touch, sound is average, GPS takes long time to connect, they claim that spica has 800Mhz but the fone work really slow. Its doesn't connect to PC Suite & many more...my personal recommendation, avoid this dumb fone..

Its really no problem in typing & is better than all touch phones in this range or even better some higher priced phones. Nokia's touch screen qwerty don't come even close to it.

Hi, I am one of the luckiest person to get Samsung Spica in india. But the major problem my phone dosen't contain Divx player apps at all for playback. on box also it was mentioned it was preloaded with divx player. Please any one help me to get back that player, as i was very interested in watching movies on mobiles. Pls once again help me to get. my id venkatvijay.adari@gmail.com.
