1. Set the brightness a touch down.
2. Go to market, download and replace Pantheon with launcher pro.
3. Download APN Droid from market to cut of data transfer when not needed.
4. Download advanced task killer and kill unwanted background apps.
5. When going to bed, turn ON airplane mode.

how long does your battery last? mine SUCKS it only last for 1.5 days with minimal texting and browsing the phone only! no calls too!

As for internal memory being small with samdroid mod you have app2sd and you can install your apps on sd card.And there are options to backup your phone also.
Also there are many apps in the android market fo this like Titanium backup etc.

don't buy this cell phone this cell phone does not connect to the pc studio supplied or latest version downloaded from sam sung site as the internal memory is very small as u install application on phone its 130 mb memory proves to be very less and phone become very slow even sam sung technical expert have said u cant connect the phone to pc studio for backing up phone book,playing internet through phone on pc, contact modification it only connect to pc via data cable to transfer video and images nor u can connect it thorugh bluetooth to transfer little bit of material also. buy at ur own risk

chuvakingdom, 04 Jul 2010the Spica is very hard to find in the Philippines! Wave is ... moreive seen spica i malls here in Cavite for about Php 13,500. 1K cheaper than Jet.

I read through most of the comments in the recent past ,but to have a final confirmation,
1.Is there freely available word/excel/Poerpoint viewer software is available?
2.Is a landscape virtual QWERTY keybaord exists with auto rotate option for messaging?
3.If you see i5800 sepcficiation,it says it has got Document Vieer,Facebook App etc.So my question is these softwares are exactly same as what we download and use it from market or something special?

top class fone,i change fones four times a year
,only really liked nokias,sonys,htc,but this samsung
changed my mind, symbian is boring now,,,no flash but
in nite scene is good so is okay without flash,,large battery one of
the best for android system,to save power just add power control widget
to home screen to switch on/off wifi gps bluetooth brightness sync,,
,then download APN widget provided by pedro maicas from market and put on home screen
to switch on/off mobile internet 3g edge hsdpa,then you have all the battery
hungry services in one area and keep them off when not using them and
battery lasts a couple o days,also go to settings then applications running services
and stop apps you dont want running in background you can start them manually anytime
there is loads of shortcuts and sub menus in this fone either using buttons or touching and
holding finger on screen till sub menu appears,for bigger and better
keyboard download bigbuttons keyboard provided by chicago logo inc works on memo notes texting,
you can lock and unlock fone from button on top right of fone press to wake fone press again and hold
to unlock or slide the button on screen to the right.press volume rocker on left side o fone to
silence incoming call,good screen size.very fast fone,good processor....

guys in india forget about i5700 spica and if you willing to pay 4k extra go for s8500 wave it costs you around 17k.
and it's really good one

For greedy reasons vodafone has blocked off normal gprs/ vodafone live access for Spica, it would be wise that u switch ur mobile operator like I did, spica without internet access is an incomplete phone.
I'm using aircel now.. Rs 98/month and unlimited internet usage! Hope it helped : )

teja, 04 Jul 2010with moderate use i get avg of 2-2 and 1/2 days ..check for... moretnx for the info! yup no apps running in the background i always use the killallapps app to terminate running apps.
