    jeffrey, 08 Sep 2010Does this phone have a a8 cortex processor 720 Mhz(like vivaz)?Hi Jeffrey,
Different web sites state it has an ARM based 720 mhz processor and others say it has an 800 mhz one, so it's hard to know who is right.
    Confusing ain't it.
What ever it turns out to be, it can be overclocked, apparently!!!

        Hi all

@Tic Toc - Yeap I am aware of that website but don't want to pre order. I'll wait until its officially released in the UK and then purchase it. I am not keen on buying something on pre order. That site does provide the best price to UK residents.

@Anonymous - I wouldnt buy it from a Singapore website. In fact I am not too keen on non UK websites due to the fact that if I had problems with the phone, returning it or dealing with customer service might be problematic. If it was something like an official international one like eebay or amazonn, then I would consider it.

If anybody in the Europe, specifically the UK purchases this, please let me know your source immediately. Website links like you tube or others would be appreciated. I really desire this phone but if its not released in the UK, the other option is the Nokia N8. This has great specs and a great battery like the Beam. I want to experience Android though. I have dismissed the iphone 4 due to it being overhyped, overpriced, signal issues, no SD slot, no USB slot, a poor battery etc.

Does anyone know of a site where I can order a phone case for my Beam?? I found Ebay USA carrying screen protectors, but Im looking to buy from Singapore. Seems difficult to find them. AND I DONT MEAN THE LEATHER CASE. Thats ugly. I meant the "hard plastic or soft rubber kind".

I just don't understand this.... It was supposed to be released worldwide. To my understanding although not official, it is not being released in the USA. That is not a problem to me as I live in the UK. Does anybody know if it will be released in Europe? Whether yes or no, please provide evidence like a link. For the perspective North American buyers, I do feel for you if it is not released in your country. If it is not released in Europe - specifically the UK, then I will have to stick with Nokia and go for the Nokia N8. I really don't want to but that is another option and the specs and battery on that are quite good. The iphone 4G is a looker but lack of a micro SD slot, signal issues, a poor battery and high price put me off it. I buy my phones SIM free without a contract.

Bravo Samsung. Great job. Now I can finally have my dream phone. Cannot wait to see it on the shelves in the EU. Hope the price will be competitive in this segment.

but, might be a good test for beam users to test taking a picture with and without wifi enabled.

really taking serious to have this beam. but really need to read all comments here first as gsmarena users provide more informations than else

                                thanks

This one of a superb device i had to compare with my other devices that (android, winphone, symbian, bb-os).

The only thing you should remember is.. turn off your wifi before taking any photos. Try to compare taking a picture with and without wifi activated.

The only thing i and thousands other are waiting for samsung to response (or we all will leaves samsung forever) is ... Spica Update For FROYO!!

hoping gsmarena would headlined our petitions too, coz samsung really have problems with reading customers complaint around the net! didnt they browse the net? they had a good phone but dont be such as arogan to keep build new devices and forgot what we just bought from them!

Vince, 03 Sep 2010It seems official that Samsung Beam will not be launched in... moreSamsung Galaxy Beam makes appearance at IFA but probably not US

After the Samsung Press Conference highlighting their “Creating A Smarter Life” Campaign and the official European launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab we headed over to the Samsung Booth. Now when I say booth don’t think 12′ of table space and some curtain and drape, no the Samsung Booth at the IFA Show is the size of an airplane hangar. We have much more to show you in the next couple of days.

Since we were blessed with face time with the Samsung Galaxy Tab yesterday instead of following the herds of European press to the Galaxy Tab demo area, I took a b-line to this beauty, the Samsung Galaxy Beam.

This Galaxy S variant features a lot of the same specifications of other Samsung Galaxy S phones, including SuperAMOLED screen, on board 16gb of memory, Android 2.1 etc. But what sets this device apart and gives it its name, “Beam” is the built in WVGA projector for presentations on the go. Imagine having the ability to show slides during your literal, elevator pitch. This is one of the phones I’ve been waiting to get my hands on, the unfortunate part, is that it probably won’t see a place in US retail stores anytime soon. Samsung spokesperson Kim Titus stated there were no plans for the immediate future regarding the Samsung Galaxy Beam.

The problem with bringing this device over is price-point. This phone would have a hard time seeing a subsidized price sub $300 because the carriers can’t make any money off the projector and while it’s neat to have it doesnt appear that it’s on anyones upcoming “roadmap” but alas just seeing it in person is an amazing feat.
