I HAVE ordered a Samsung Beam, but and it's a big but, I am seriously thinking of canceling it considering all the issues people are having with it constantly crashing.
Like for instance, using the unlock pattern which causes it to freeze on startup. I mean exactly what is this "unlock pattern" thingy, what does it do?
Another problem some are experiencing is the use of the ATK or Android Task Killer, by setting it too high which also causes crashes.
Apperently there should be a new software release using version G2 and Samsung are now testing version G6.
The only thing that keeps me holding on is the projector, without it I wouldn't by another Samsung phone, It would be straight to the iphone 4.

how go... moreThe speakers are louder than my old Acer liquid at max volume. Quite a bit louder actually. Theres a 5.1ch button which I can press.
In terms of bass I really need something to compare with...
It is a pico projector after all. In day light situation if you have all your curtains drawn it is acceptable quality. But to have the best experience you really need to play the media in a dark room. The light intensity is 6-9 lumen. Which is not a whole lot if you are in a lighted room!

Avoid until a fireware with it fixed is release of coz!

I would not recommend anyone to buy this phone now until samsung fix the hand at "Andriod" screen issue.
I have to run to my local Singapore samsung service center to have the software reflash twice within a week of buying this phone. It always occur when you power off and power on the phone. I met many peoples at the service center who were there with the same issue. This is not an isolated case.
Anyway, I had enough of this problem and I am going to sell off this phone. I must say no other phone I have bought ever made me ran to the service center twice within a week of using it. In summary, it's a feature pack phone with a crappy phone software that will get corrupted and hang at startup.

I have bought the phone from Starhub for less than a week as I was very impressed with the features of the phone.
However, yesterday, I have tried to lock the SIM with password. I shut down the phone and on it again. I encountered the "stucked at Andriod screen" issue too. I have leave the phone on for the whole night and the screen is still stucked at Andriod. I wonder if Samsung has done a proper product test before marketing the phone and I wonder if Starhub has reviewed the phone before bringing it in.
If IPHONE 4 has poor signal, then this phone has no signal at all! Actually I am utterly disappointed.

I just talked to a carrier of this phone in the united states and they told me that unfortunetly it will only use 2g in the states.. Not too sure what the difference between 2g and 3g are..? Is the speed that much faster on 3g?
