It's shame that such good phone isnt available in Europe, it's even hard to buy it and shipped from US :(

AnonD-52833, 01 May 2012in my country (Malaysia), we use GSM 900 n GSM 1800 for 2g ... morehi, i am from S'pore...got the phone in the US, unlocked it, works fine. but the AT&T version doesn't allow you to switch between 2G/3G networks...you will have to flash it...but if you are happy with the AT&T rom and bloatware, it works OK.

in my country (Malaysia), we use GSM 900 n GSM 1800 for 2g network..n 2100 for 3g network...the question is..if the fon is already unlock, will it be compatible with my country network?

OK, I was just about to purchase this phone from US via Amazon, and even though it's on AT&T, I thought unlocking it would mean I can use it in the UK (unlike the Droid 4). However I now find out that 3G and MMS may not work because of carrier IQ? What the hell is this? Can anyone actually confirm what the issues are and if it's easy to unlock? Or do I have to root it and install custom firmware? Otherwise I'll have to resort to the Xperia Pro and I really don't want to due to the lower specs. A reply from a UK/European user would be most helpful and aoppreciated. Thanks.

I've just placed this question into the Motorola DROID 3 place, but on this way I ensure that the readers/fans of Samsumg can also comment on it...
I'm thinking on buying either the Motorola DROID 3 either the Samsung i927 Captivate Glide... Which one would you recommend me and what are the pros and cons?
I will use in Europe (Spain)... but they are not sold in Europe, so, I will need to buy it unlocked in America... Are you aware of any incompatibility if using it with an European operator? (size of SIM card, network incompatibilities,...)

I just bought this phone for use it in europe. I really happy with it. The specs are good enought for me. My only concern was the keyboard because i watch some reviews that ditch it. In my personal opinion is one of the best keyboards i've seen in a mobile.

AT&T carrier phones (and US carrier phones in general) have a monitoring software pre-installed. That means even if you manage to ship it here, options like 3G and MMS won't work. Buy the Canadian carrier (Rogers) since it won't have any type of monitoring software in it and you will be able to make full use of the phone once it's unlocked.
