Well, I and two other families all had this phone. It was a great phone and only reason stopped it's usage was due to technology outgrowing it. IF a person was foolish enough or ignorant to put too apps on the phone, or not have an app killer on their to automatically manage apps, then the phone could get stuck or slow respond due to too much resources used by background apps. Found it's slide out keyboard very useful in many situations. Had a unique thumb scroll pad that worked via infrared I think.
I still kept the old phones, even though I have moved on to much newer phones. :-)

The Samsung Intercept was a fine little phone back in 2010 and 2011, but, like all of the early smart phones, technology quickly outpaced it. By 2013 many of the Google Store apps no longer worked as they needed a more updated Android operating system as well as memory and processing power. By today's standards, this phone is almost completely useless outside of making calls and sending and receiving text messages.
But look on the bright side. This phone makes a fantastic paperweight.

This phone is a good music phone. i love music. it has WiFi, which i use alot because of my awful signal strength. I wish it was not on this network and that it had AT&t instead. i guess it an ok starter phone

i had this phone for quite a while now and i still have it{2012}. it really stinks on apps in today's market although u can install Google play on it. some apps work on the phone and others do not. there are no live wallpapers on this phone and it is very slow on android v 2.2.2. it does have WiFi and Bluetooth. I WOULD NOT buy this phone in 2012 if i were u.I got mine with android v 2.2.2 so i cant test it on the older version.:C

I had this phone for a very long time.
The good things about it: a good android to start with, it's so cheap for being Android (I got it for $80), it is hard to break this phone (durable), and it has qwerty! It has the most important features that you can ever have in mind. But one thing, you will have to either get used to it's slow processing speed or stop multitasking many things. Otherwise GREAT.

I got this as my first smartphone.
Pros:
- Available with cheap no-contract plans from Virgin Mobile
- Runs Android
- Has a physical keyboard
- I like the button placement (obviously this is a matter of taste, but I like the power button on the front)
- Not ridiculously large, not eye-strainingly small. Nice balance, IMO.
Cons:
- Starved for RAM. Even most other low-end Android phones have 512MB, vs the Intercept's 256.
- Only supports EVDO rev.0, not rev.A. Since it's my only phone I can't say how much better rev.A is. It is theoretically faster and more reliable, but in real-word use I can't say.
- If you try to listen to music, it will skip unless you A) Have a really good signal, or B) Turn on airplane mode. I'm told this is not a problem on other Android phones because they have dedicated modem processors, so the CPU is always available to the OS.
- The physical keyboard sucks. I hesitated to even put it in the "pros" section, because trust me, you will prefer using on-screen keyboards.
- The GPS is flakey and WILL NOT WORK without active cell phone service.
Basically, this phone looks a lot better on paper than it really is. The lack of RAM makes a HUGE difference in usability. It's widely considered one of the worst (if not THE worst) Android phone on the market. When I bought it, it was the only Android available on Virgin Mobile. Today, there are much better phones, like the LG Optimus V and Optimus Slider. I'm considering ditching my Intercept for one of those.

I personally love the phone. I got it for $150 n that's including the unlimitited plan. People have complain bout it freezing n shutting off. But as long as u don't download a million apps ull be fine. And along wit facebook already bein in the phone u also get a version of advance task killer. So if evry so often u go there and end apps ur apps ur not using it helps a lot.

I own this phone and love it! The price was great for my first droid and the $25 monthly unlimited plan from Virgin Mobile is a wonderful value!
