Samsung is reportedly working on a more affordable Galaxy Fold for global release
It was quite an ordeal, but the Samsung Galaxy Fold is finally available in select regions, in limited quantities and at a high price to boot (itís been on sale in South Korea since early September, itís coming to the US later this week and soon in the UK). Samsung is reportedly working on a second Galaxy Fold model that will be available globally and will be more affordable.
That phone Ė bearing a model number SM-F700F Ė will come with half the built-in storage (256GB) and may feature other cost-saving measures like cutting back on the RAM (from 12GB). However, itís not clear what price point Samsung is targeting (the current Galaxy Fold was available for pre-order at $1,980 in the US).
Also unclear is if Samsung will stick to just downgrading a few components to lower the price or if itís aiming for an extensive redesign like the Galaxy W20 5G clamshell that surfaced a few days ago (Samsung is also working on an outwards-folding phone).
We may have to wait until next year to find out, though, there's not much time left in 2019 for another major launch.
10inch unfolded, pop-up camera, no notches, no bezels, 3,5 jack, s-pen.
