There is no icon or widgit for PDF. The program automatically opens when a PDF file is opened.

Bass and general sound quality is very good providing you play around with the equilizer option.
My Partner has the nokia 5530 xpressmusic and the quality between them is much the same, the Beat DJ has a slightly better crystal clear sound while pumping out some awesome bass at the same time.
It has 5.1 channel sound.
It also has has PDF doc viewer (as it displays the digital booklet from an i-tunes album which is in PDF format).
