I reluctantly sent back a lg renoir, which I loved after previously having viewty, due to software problems and decided to try the pixon and Im sooo glad I did altough not as sleek and attractive exteroir as renoir everything else is a million times better. Very similar software to tocco with lots of added extra's, camera and flash much better than lg, better widgets, more stable accelerometer, qwerty keyboard much quicker and easier to use (my fat fingers kept hitting wrong letters on renoir, not the pixon tho), plus much more. Also for those who seem to think there is no GPS, your wrong mine has google maps installed which works effortlessly and no wifi- maybe an issue for some but for me in UK my 3G network is immense so no worries.

shm, 10 Dec 2008is there anyone telling me if i can use a third-party map a... moreHi, I've actually got my own Pixon now. It does work as a Sat Nav device. Install Java application Mobile GMaps via wap and it detects the phone's internal GPS receiver and pinpoints your position on the map. The software isn't that great but it works. Needs good 3g service to download the maps quickly.

Also other java apps can be installed though using them with the touch screen can be tricky as most were written for buton phones.

*Warning to potential customers* As my phone is Orange branded they have deleted Google Maps (and some of the widgets) and replaced it with Orange Maps, which links to a page saying not compatible with his handset! Thanks Orange! Delete one of the phones major features and replace it with a non working chargable service, stupid. And what's more there's links and icons placed in the menus in several places to Orange Maps, what a waste of space. Buy generic handsets if possible.

You will be able to install a limited amount of applications but it depends on how many apps are made for this touchscreen os. And i wouldn't imagine many. If your looking for apps you want a phone with either symbian, apple os or windows mobile (winmo) as these are the leading operating systems and thousands of software programmers are making new apps every week. If you like samsung they have a smart phone called the omnia which uses winmo. Millions of apps!! plus great phone. The camera is downgraded to a 5mp, but the quality is superb. They also have an 8.1mp cameraphone which uses symbian, this is also arguably the best cameraphone on the market, the quality of your prints willl excell over any other cameraphone out to date, people may tell you otherwise but after comparing them all against one another the quality is quite clearly noticeable. i8510innovate is what it's called. Plus symbian is rated better than winmo. Truly brilliant phone, also you got wi-fi there aswell.

i got this phone last monday (had it 7 days now)

                            the good

love the speed of the internet it is way faster than any other mobile i have used!
the qwerty keyboard on it i do not use as the normal mobile T9 txting works just fine.
the sensitivity of the screen is brilliant and does not mess up as much as i thought it would do.
the speaker phone is good enough that when i am driving i do not need a hands free.

                            the bad

the only real bad thing i found was that i left the blue tooth on and messed with my mobile all day and the battery power wend down real fast. the next day i lowered the brightness of the screen to an acceptable level and turned the bluetooth off and i only lost 2 bars by the end of the day after messing again all day.

i would definately recomend this phone as i think it has everything i want on it. the callender calculator etc all work very well! i will keep you updated.

                            hope that helped anyone!
