taiuti, 24 Apr 2011Does the GPS work without 3g? Does it work without any conn... moreyes - GPS can indeed work without 3G (or any network connection). Think about GPS systems installed in vehicles. However A-GPS needs network connection. Also, without connection, GPS would take a very long time to lock in with the satellites.

My P1010 does not have Media/Entertainment Hub pre-installed as advertised. It only has Social Hub and Readers Hub...Y?

The Galaxy Tab P1010 (WiFi only) does not support TV out function. Even the guys at Samsung Philippines are not aware of this until I made a complaint to their customer service. I bought a P1010 this month and the TV out cable. TV out connectivity is important for me because I am planning to use the P1010 for work, saves effort in bringing my laptop since I can open MS Office files on Think Free Office and display presentation files on a big screen. I was mislead by all the press releases about the P1010 that it has a TV out function. I don't get the point why a same speced, same O.S. (android 2.2) tablet was neglected of the TV out function. Is this just a software error? I can understand if the omitted functions are 3G related (like calls/sms, WiFi Teethering) but for a TV out connectivity not to be present? I am totally disappointed I hope Samsung will fix this issue ASAP.

why they even had to come up with this? the much Samsung going high the much they love to go low.. i mean its plain P1000 if they had to equiped it with super amoled would've been another thing. why no tablet is coming with super-amoled? the No. 1 screen. i wish Samsung Super-amolide all their devices.

Anonymous, 13 Apr 2011@Fivestar If you want 3G, buy Galaxy Tab P1000I think fivestar would opt for a galaxy tab 3g if he/she had enough budget, why not? But with regards to 5star's question, he/she thinks it would be more practical to buy the wifi version instead of the 3g version, if it is compatible with a USB dongle. Price diff between P1000 and p1010 is a bit too big. And if he/she has her mobile phone with him/her, losing the GSM functions for a lesser price would be a worthy sacrifice.

Would it be possible to connect a 3G modem dongle via the USB port to connect in areas where there is no WIFI?
If YES, I will definitely consider this unit.

well, I`ve decided to buy this tablet after some deep thinking & comparing with other similar devices such as iPad, it`s been with me for 2 weeks now & am totally satisfied with it`s features, light-weight, speed & design, & most of all..Android Froyo which is really nice, I also liked it`s copetitive price, I do advise anybody who wants a 7" tablet to get a Galaxy-Tab.
