If you are dithering, let me suggest you go ahead and buy it. It is a beautiful phone (at least to this engineer). First and foremost I was hoping (praying) for a clean Outlook to phone exchange of contacts. I was happily impressed as it has a direct sync function, and its sync with Outlook my is best experience yet since using a iPAQ Phone (one of the only things it did well). It syncs contacts, calendar, notes, etc.
There are hundreds of features in this phone I have never seen before, and I can't think of something its missing. It is like the engineers who designed it, expected to use it themselves and made sure it had EVERYTHING.
Things it has I haven't seen commented:
-6, 9 or 15 quick pictures in a row as I have only seen in very high end cameras before
-TV out (with optional adapter)
-Full pop3 email checking/replying
-Rather nice mp3 player interface. OEM wired stereo headset sounds as good as my ipod. The only headset that really seems to improve on this is the SGH 170, but I may wait a month or two before I shell out the $100 for it..
-a quick text entry method that allows superfast entry by intelligent guess of word hitting each letter-number only once, e.g. to enter hello just type 4 3 5 5 6 instead of 4 4 3 3 5 5 5 pause 5 5 5 6 6 6. It turns the 2-9 number keys practically into a qwerty in terms of speed. Amazing how well it works.
This phone bests every phone I have ever owned or seen (owned RAZR v3i, SLVR L7, ipaq 6315, etc.) And what kills me is it does it in a package that is insanely small. Pictures do not do it justice. It less than HALF the thickness of a V3i. Inside the leather case it is of course larger, but considerably protected and now with a second battery. Again, add a cover to any other phone and 2nd battery and they increase in size too. No question, this is an amazing product.
Things I DONT like:
-When not using handfree headset, reception is sub par. With hands free it has been actually pretty good. Apparently holding next to ones head really affects its reception.
-proprietary connection is used by all devices (power, USB, headset, & TV Out). The one connection is unlike any of the rest of my phones and is not standard. Motorola go that right using miniUSB, a standard plug. I wish everyone went with that. The years of Nokia where i didn't have to buy 4 chargers for each vehicle every time i upgraded phones was nice. I wish we got back to that.
-microSD. I guess given the size SD is too big, but Transcend just came out with an 8gb SD and that would turn this into a possible ipod replacement. 2gb just isn't that big these days. Hopefully when the larger capacity cards come out in years to come, this device will support them.

I have the old style P300 and was wondering wether Samsung have fixed the flawed issues of the P300 on the P310.
Issues such the very quiet volume level on ringtones and no vibrate (very weak vibrate) and melody start at the same time, I like the phone for its size and features but was always missing really important phone calls.
If not then I would definately not be buying

Great phone - works for me but...
I bought a micro SD card only to find it's not correct, far too small!! Looks like the slot takes a mini SD? anyone know??
Everything I've read says micro SD (even the user manual) I'm pretty sure it's not though?

thanks for answering my question about ringtone. i just could nt find an option to set ringtone as ascending like you have on nokia phones..so i thought that the reason why the first ring is low then after becomes normal is that there was a fualt..but from what i understand yours does the same? let me know thanks

To SAM, The phone battery lasts about 5 hours of talking (without the case battery), with the case battery you can talk a lot more than that, my P310 phone lasted around 6 days without charging along with case battery. All I can say is that P310 is a great phone.

i would like to ask just one thing.
since i'd probably want to avoid using
soft keys as much as possible, does the "C"
key on P310 act as a back button also?
from a video i know "OK" button also act as
an ok button besides from the soft key.

Sam DONT buy it!!!!! lol I want mine to be exclusive. And the less people have it the better. On a serious note your either going to love or hate this phone, I have rarely met a person who's in between. Me personally I love it, Im not an over heavy user but I will get a day easy without the case. Sometimes I forget when I put it in my shirt pocket, lol

please(!) someone answer me this question:
what is 6 hours talk time ?
is it just the phone battery, or phone battery + additional battery in the leather case ?
does it really give 6, or at least 5 hours of talk time ?
i wanna buy it, but i need it to do at least 5 hours, and forums like this http://forum2.mobile-review.com/showthread.php?t=53660
keep me too scared...
