Samsung Pay partners with Alipay in China

Samsung has partnered up with Ant Financial Services Group, the Chinese company behind the Alipay online payment service. The collaboration will now allow payments with users' Alipay accounts on select Samsung smartphones.

Users need to register their Alipay accounts into Samsung Pay and simply swipe upward from the locksreen, homescreen or even standby to bring up an Alipay QR code for the merchant to scan.

Samsung Pay was launched in China in the end of March and the service has gotten positive reception since. Supported handsets include the current flagships Galaxy S7, S7 edge, and Galaxy Note5, as well as last year's Galaxy S6 edge+, plus most members of the Galaxy A (2016) series.
