here u go buddy jus follow this:
menu - settings - phone profile - now choose ur profile(normal, outdoor watever) - click option(left soft key) - edit - now click right navigation key - here u r in sms section - scroll to message alert tone - click middle key n choose ur song or ringtone n assign it.

yup bro i can assure u i m using 4gb mem card n mine is full with 5 movies n hell lot of songs but s3500 never slows down or lag... the speed of ui is absolutely awesome.

Thanks boss for the quick reply. One more question, can i set the message tone to one of my MP3 songs. I'm a type of person who needs a long ringtone to catch my attention. Thanks, i'm also limiting my choice between with this phone and the xpress music 5220. I just don't like with nokia is when it gets old and memory got full it hangs!! and lag. That is why whenever i will buy a phone i only choose between samsung and SE cause their system are fast even with a large amount of memory consumption

Yesterday, i used this method and i come to know that it has 26 percent of battery remaining!!! In main screen it shows 2 bars... At that time power cut... In our city when current goes off it will come after 2 hours..
I bored and played my favourite songs in my mobile for two hours in full speaker sound!!! It doesn't depleted!!! After 2 hours I checked it once again... it also have 6 percent of battery remaining!!!!This happens yesterday morning,but i recharged the mobile at night only, mean i get messages, calls and all!!!!
Dont think that when the battery bars is two or below, you battery capacity is fully depleted!!!!
The last three bars give more worktime than the first two!!!!
HOPE IT WILL HELP!!!!

Nokia 5310 noway compared to s3500, because nokia doesnt that must feature to compare with...
SO i repeating...
s3500 has 2.2 inch screen whereas 5130 has 2 inch screen
=5130 is again a boring bar phone but s3500 is a metallic finished slide phone(even look costlier)
-s3500 has 1 crore 60 lakh colours whereas 5130 has 256 thousand colours( n this is a big difference)
so again in terms of screen n display s3500 wins
-5130 cam is really poor on the other hand s3500 cam quality is excellent.
-in 5130 it takes a lot of time to process photos after u click whereas in case of s3500 jus click n done.
-5130 video camera comes with the resolution of 176x144 by far the worse i've ever encountered despite of the 2 megapixel camera which suppose to give double the resolution of the current one,
but s3500 video cam resolution is almost double the 5130's that is....320*240
- another big difference is 5130 supports qcif video recording wheras s3500 supports qvga. qvga is much better than qcif(to know more google it)
so in terms of cam also s3500 wins
-now talk about music
-the sound produced by 5130 is crisp and clear at the lowest volume,..but as it arisen (volume increase) it gets blur(not enough bass and treble)
-the speaker volume is very low coz there is no stereo loudspeakers.
n s3500 music player is shockingly loud n clear
-headfones available with both the phones are average.
-battery backup is almost same.
-another big difference is 5130 gets "hang" when you have too much stuf going on the phone,..like putting all of the shortcut buttons in to the "go to" button (it really hangs)
on the contrary s3500 never hangs or slow down. its speed is awesome,
-5130 doesn't hv contrast adjuster and light sensor. which depletes the battery faster. whereas in s3500 u can change contrast and brightness according to ur choice.
-another intresting feature u'll find in s3500 is menu transition effect....if u hav seen latest aamir khan samsung ad than u must know wat i m talking. wenever u press any button screen slides from right to left looks really awesome.
-there is no smart dialling in 5130 which u get in s3500
-No Flight mode in 5130 u'll get it in s3500
-in s3500 u can lock ur messages or phone book or ur stuff(videos, pics, songs, softwares e.t.c) or memo or calender or task or call log watever u want this feature is inbuilt in it, u can record fm n there is no limit n quality is crystal clear, u can record calls n the other person is not going to hear any annoying beeps, through bluetooth u can brows n download every files of other phones without their consent
u cant find these features in 5130
(remember i m talking about "ONLY INBUILT" features which came along the phone)
Other important inbuilt features of s3500 are
-MOBILE TRACKER 2.0 : everybody knows about it.
-BLUETOOTH MESSENGER
-FAKE CALL: Fake call simulates the phone ringing, allowing you to escape uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situations by pretending you need to take a call.
u dont find these in 5130...
When come to battery i got about 4 days.. Eventhough i hear 2 hours to 3 hours of music, playing videos and games for sometime, and moderate phone use and most of the time i put my phone in vibration, daily i got more than 50 messages while in vibration mode!!!!!....
When you bought the phone, put the phone for maximum 8 hours charge without disturbing it!!! If you do so, the battery life is much more like me!!!
so if u want a hot lookin ALLROUNDER phone then go for s3500.
now u have to decide wat u want!!!!!!!
Dont confuse with this Nokia fetish users....
Because they are posting the fake comments only and making the confusion for new persons who have the thought of buying Samsung s3500... Consider them as fools and dont bother about their opinions...
Mentioned Features are 100% true. Even can't declined by Nokia Users!!!!
But the Decision is yours!!!

MENU - SETTINGS - APPLICATION SETTINGS - CALL - ALL CALLS - AUTO REJECT....
here u'll find two options Auto reject & Reject list...make a list of those people whose calls u want to block...then go into auto reject option n "ON" it(by clicking the right navigation key)...now save it(left soft key).....all those persons u save in that block list cant call u now.....

You cant save it in memory card, but through PC suite software you can directly store in it your PC and If you want to view them you have to use the PC suite software!!!

Eventhough I got theft insurance and accidental insurance for my phone when i purchased my phone!!!
I purchased it in UNIVERCEL, 2 and 1/2 months ago!!!
2GB memory card is 300!!! So totally, Rs.5200 + 300 = Rs.5500 only with all Mega Awesome features!!!
This phone will over rule mobiles with the range upto Rs.8000 in other mobile models!!!!

how many messages can you store in this phone. I own a samsung. Its only limited to only 200 message inbox and sent item then i have to delete it all again.
Can s3500 store more message and save more message in either phone memory or memory card. Please guys give me more detail so that i can decide if i get this one or not. Thanks
