first thing first s3500 is a piece of beauty
while gm200 is really ugly

now talk bout specs:
s3500 vs gm200
2.2 inch screen Vs 2 inch screen
bro i think u'wud agree even a simple person who doesnt knw anythin much bout specs will crave for a big screen. yup everyone loves big screen.

16m(1 crore 60 lakh colours) vs 256k (256 thousand colours)
its a huge diffrence s3500 have 60 TIMES more colours so ur pics n videos look more colourfull n lively

240*320 screen resolution vs poor 176*220
screen resolution is poor in comparision to s3500

internal 45mb mem vs 14mb mem

although s3500 is a slide phone even though it has a sleek design n look -14.3 mm thickness whereas gm200 is bar phone but thickness is 14.4 mm...lol

cam not at all comperable(u knw this)
poor QCIF video recording with poor 176*144 resolution
whereas s3500 has QVGA(much superior to qcif) video recording with great 320*240 resolution.

      to deactivate sos message jus follow this:
      menu - messages - settings - sos message - sendin option - here jus put it OFF.... now ur sos messaging feature is off.

        GM200 is no where in competition..I have both the phones S3500 and 5130...but GM200 is a crap...

          Now i say you how s3500 is much more better than LGGM200!!!
          1) S3500 have 240 x 320 screen display whereas LG GM200 have 176 x 220

          2)S3500 have 1 crore 60 lac colour combination where as LG GM200 have only 2 lac and 56 thousand colour combination!!!

          3)LG GM200 is again a boring bar phone But S3500 is stylish slide phone!!! Because nowadays most of all loving slide phones!!!!

          4) Video recording is recorded in QVGA in S3500 (much more better than other 2MP phone!!! My friends cant believe that the video is taken in 2MP camera)

          5) s3500 accepts upto 8GB but LG GM200 only 2GB!!!


          Other AWESOME features!!!

          2MP camera... AWESOME....


          Video resolution 320 x 240, qvga video recording... VERY GOOD.....the video is even more better.....


          Fake call mangaement.... due to this facility you can just clicking a button, a fake call will come that will prevent you from critical situations....


          Bluetooth which you can browse other phones files....Really awesome feature, that i never seen in other phones....


          Loud and crystal clear sound....


          Display clarity with 16M colors...so you can get lively images....


          2.2 inch display(That you never see in nokia phone of this range, even if you spend two or three thousands extra)


          Security management(can lock your sms,calender,call log, memory card, files, events, memo, task,etc...

          USB charging...Good feature at this price.....


          FM with radio data system....


          No limit for FM stations...


          Expandable memory upto 8GB(cant think of it in NOKIA PHONES-only upto 2GB)....


          Great speed even with 8GB memory card....


          Does not Hang even with 8GB....

          Multiple Alarm: There are five alarm slots available on the Samsung S3500 and additional ones can be created if needed. Each of them can have its own snooze time, number of repetitions and activation days. The volume can also be different for each alarm. Furthermore, you can set different tones for each of the alarms and you can choose whether it should trigger phone vibration.

          Calendars - Calendar Function is awesome in this phone. It have all Indian Holidays marked. If there is a public holiday (date) it will show a icon below and when u click button, it will show you which holiday it is.

          PRIVACY LOCK: Locking function is also very good where you can lock ur Messages, call log, phonebook, ur files (pics, videos, games etc), calender, memo, task etc...watever u want. really a unique function...

          BLOCK Calls n Sms's: u can block calls as well as sms.

          "Flight mode"

          "bluetooth security"
          when u connect other phones through bluetooth it ask for a passcode....it really enhance ur phone secutity bcoz of this ur phone can not be hack through any hacking tool.

          another awesome feature is when you connect through Bluetooth to any other device you can take a control of that phone as all files and folders of other connected phone are displayed on S3500. You can take whichever files you want without bothering other person.

          "Fm recording" n the best part is the audio quality of recorded clip is shockingly loud n crystal clear n can save unlimited no. of stations.

          "call recording"
          crystal clear call recording n the other person on call will not hear any annoying beep.

          "Fake Call function" this feature enables you to activate a bogus incoming call, so you can free yourself from awkward conversations or dodgy situations by pretending to take a call. For added authenticity, you can record your own or ur friends fake voice "call" that plays back when you answer.

          Menu transition effect
          if u seen latest aamir khan's samsung ad then u wud probably knw wat i m talking bout...wenever u press a button the screen slides from right to left....it looka awesome...u can also change ur transition effect.

          "MOBILE TRACKER 2.0"
          Mobile tracker automatically sends an SMS message to a pre-designated number alerting you when your phone’s SIM card is changed, increasing your chances of recovering a lost or stolen mobile phone.

          "SOS FUNCTION"
          in an emergency jus press either end of the volume key 4 times when the phone is closed. this will send the SOS message to ur selected recipients. if they call u back their call will be automatically connected. its definately a life saving feature.

          Message alert repetition: it will alert u in evry 2 min if there is an unread mes on ur phone....u can put it off too.

          keypad lights automatically set according to day night usage or according to ur custom usage dont have to on or off it manually.

          have all the features which only a music phone possess....n music player is shockingly loud n clear.

          "Random Wallpaper Effect"
          very intresting feature...wenever u use ur mobile n came back to standby....it will welcome u with diffrent wallpapers of ur choice each time.(to know more read earlier reviews)

          "smart dialling"

          "SMS ZOOM Function"

          cam cover: cam is not at the back of fone....it is inbetween the slide so slide act as a cam cover...protect lens from scratches, dust n all.

          can change DEFAULT MEMORY setting: u can change default memory settings of bluetooth, wap downloads, camera, camcorder, voice recorder, fm radio etc from phone mem to memory card.
          for ex: now when u transfer any file through bluetooth or click a pic, or record a radio clip they'll b directly stored in ur mem card.

          Awesome file management:
          The functionality of the file browser is one of the best among non-smartphones. You can copy or move files - both one by one or in bulk, and you can create and delete new folders (save for the basic ones). Files can also be sent via Bluetooth one by one or multiple at once. Throughout the whole file manager, you can pick files you would like to lock to prevent accidental deletion. The whole file navigation thingy is really quick with no lags whatsoever.

          apart from these there are a lot more features like "THEME CREATOR" or BLUETOOTH MESSAGING....the list is endless.....we r still exploring.....

          s3500 is a "ALLROUNDER" phone

            How will LG GM200 compete with S3500? My personal opinion is with almost the same price tag, LG GM200 is much better than S3500.

              Please help I have activated the SOS function when I lived in SA and now I am living in Thailand i cant find how to deactivate it as it keeps going off and smsing some poor thai lady who cant even speak english.... I have tried every setting I cant find it please help

                rotate ur images through pc or jus search for ny third party software. ur pics are always clicked in full screen.
                zoom em to see em on full screen or follow this:
                menu - settings - display n light - my theme - option then create n then jus press the middle key....now jus click next...

                  my message memory always shows full. is deleting the only option. i dont find an option to save the messages to memory card. can someone pls help?

                      bro s3500 is much better than s3310
                      first of all s3310 is jus another bar phone whereas s3500 is a premium brushed mettalic slide phone so its more stylish n goodlookin.
                      secondly s3500 screen is bigger than s3310
                      thirdly n the biggest diffrence in s3310 is u cant install games or 3rd party software through usb but u can install games n 3rd party softwares in s3500 with usb cable through ur pc so u dont need WAP for this.
                      and last but not the least u cant transfer ur pics, songs or ur stuff directly to mem card in s3310 whereas in s3500 u can change default memory settings of bluetooth, wap downloads, camera, camcorder, voice recorder, fm radio etc from phone mem to memory card.
                      for ex: now when u transfer any file through bluetooth or click a pic, or record a radio clip they'll b directly stored in ur mem card.

                          apart from cam n music player n all those marvellous features i love its looks. i bought it 4 months back n it still looks brand new. its premuim brushed mettalic body gives it a fine premium look.... it looks much expensive than its price tag.

                            HI All,
                            I have been using this handset for past one month.
                            I feel, S3310 is much better than this.(I bought S3310 for my wife 3 months back). Camera is not as clear as S3310. But ring volume is louder than S3310. Viewing images continuously from gallery is not possible.We have to go back to list and view one by one. Overall this will be scoring less in my rating when compared to S3310.

                              Hey who knows how you get images or any files such as a mp3 from your Samsung S3500 to your computer. It didn't come with any USB cable - should I have got one? If not where can I get one reasonably cheap. Or are there any other ways? I tried looking up bluetooth or something but I couldn't get it to connect to my computer.
                              I have a mac so I dunno if that affects it. It's quite an old one too I think (Mac OS X version 10.4.11).
