samsung s3500 boasts of 9 hrs of talktime. is this true and if not then whats the truth? and does the slider gets loose with usage? plz anyone clear my doubts.

REALITY CHECK:
nokia 6300: actual price is Rs 7300 (the mobile store)
nokia 3120 classic: the price is Rs 7400 (oh no!!!!)
nokia 7510 supernova: the price is Rs 7500

yeah the @5600 s3500 is the only phone with 2.2 16M screen...agreed nearest nokia is 6303 costs 7600..

and what is this crap abt nokia not having a decent theme creator??? are you out of your mind?? Nokia has the best theme creator there is. Both S60 and S40 have excellent theme creators that allows you to configure hundreds of options and its not a third party software...its made by nokia.
About the virus thing...you need a good antivirus in your system to prevent it....BTW i have downloaded hundreds of files from zedge and mobile9 and havnt found a single virus till now...using kaspersky internet security 2010.

here is the guide to block calls n sms's.....
to block sms's:
jus go into MENU - MESSAGES - SETTINGS - GENERAL SETTINGS - BLOCK MESSAGES..... here u can easily block sms's
To block calls:
MENU - SETTINGS - APPLICATION SETTINGS - CALL - ALL CALLS - AUTO REJECT..... here u can make a list of those people whose calls u want to block.... when that blocked person try to call u he only get to hear 7, 8 beep n then that call will disconnect itself.

Anonymous, 07 Aug 2009that feature is available in nokia 5130...there are like 10... morewat are u talking about...... that feature is not available in nokia 5130 i m not talking about installing 3rd paty crap.they dont have it by default. yaar nokia even doesnt have a decent call recorder or theme creator or fake call... for this u have to download third party software. we here are talking about those features which comes along with the phone by default n without any crappy third party software installations. moreover the biggest threat of these third party software is the chances of installing viruses in ur phone. jus google it n u find out that even downloading software from reputed site like mobile9.com is not safe.

Reading ur review i bought this Phone. I was pla... morethat feature is available in nokia 5130...there are like 10 or more free softwares that can do that(being nokia has many advantages). you can even hack other phone(make calls, read sms, copy contacts, files and change settings of that phone..etc and many more)
All you have to do is download and copy to memory card or download it download it directly to phone...no crappy installation required...just copy/paste and run app.

dont talk rubbish dude...it makes you look like an idi0t. there are plenty of nokia's who have 16M colors screen below 10,000...even below Rs7000 there are many.
Nokias come with Class 32 GPRS and Class 32 EDGE...theoretically they are faster and offer greater bandwidth than class 10.
TFT is commonly used in most phones available now..and its not the latest technology...even in the 65k colors LCDs are made of TFT these days and TFT is getting out dated with the introduction of IPS/Super-TFT or AMOLED screens. Both nokia and samsung have started using AMOLED screens for high end mobiles.
More over you can find 1000+ applications, 5000+ games and 100000+ themes for Nokia/S40 phones. the numbers are even greater for S60.

Reading ur review i bought this Phone. I was planning to buy 5130 xp but i am glad that i have bought s3500. It's amazing. Great camera and great sound. I love the feature by which we can change the eq preset with pressing single key unlike accessing menu in nokia.One feature nobody mentioned is u can have remote access to other phones when their bluetooth is on. That means u can see all their documents in phone memory and sd card and save them on ur phone. That 5130 does not have. I have discovered all the features. But i could not understand how to block calls and sms. Please help

You can lock your sms,files,contacts and even more...
16m color = 16 million colors = 16,000,000 colors..
The colour is rich in s3500 (only Nokia N95 have 16M color::: other mobiles in nokia below 10,000 have 65,000 colour only)
TFT - Thin Film transistor as simple as that.
It is used in the current breed of LCD monitors which are thin and also consume less power
GPRS Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 - 48 kbps
EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps

Cool outlook..
