just bought samsung corby ii and its my first time to use a touch phone....and IM HAVING HARD TIME USING IT.... but i know ill get by... as a whole i love it....

Hey Arra,
try this suggestion
mostly I do this to my phones when they start to hang
been able to user sony,samsung,nokia,lg and Htc
search on google , "how to hard reset/format samsung corby 2" mostly it is supposed to be used with key functions like for Nokia 5800 you press the green and the red button and also the camera button while holding them btw, then turn it on with releasing the green,red,camera buttons. until it loads to what country language and stuff.

i got this phone two weeks ago and its good to use but if it is your first time using touch phone its a little hard for you, but i love it

Actually, I already did try that and everything but nothing really works. I even try to do that everyday hoping it will be back to normal one day.. but my phone just turns on.. and right after the GT-S3850 on the screen and the start up image, it gets stuck on the samsung logo.
I bought my MMC at the same time I bought my phone so I'm pretty sure, they are compatible.. and all the files in it were scanned before they get transfered.. My MMC is also working pretty well on my other phone, which I am using right now so I'm sure my MMC doesn't have a virus.
It was really kinda strange coz the only thing I remember that I did before my phone started to hang was that I tried to access a wifi connection in a friend's house. I knew that the connection was safe though coz everybody in that house were using it.. I didn't receive any files over bluetooth either coz I'm sure, my bluetooth was off. I wasn't even able to browse over the internet coz just right after I typed in the wifi's password, it got stuck and I no longer could press anything.. I even waited for like 30 mins before I decided to remove the battery coz I was thinking, it might work in a while.. but then nothing happened.
I guess, I don't have any other options.. ='(

yeahyeah, 21 Jul 2011how can i connect my corby using a usb connector it says i ... moreyou can download from samsung apps or u can get from any friends who has samsung CD known as kies..the sw is common for all phones

I have been using the CORBY II for 4 months now.And I am a Samsung user ever since.But in my personal experience with the phone. the specs and applications are no problem at all. But my only problem is that the touch response of the unit is not that good, Sometimes instead of pressing the button you want in the screen it will activate the wrong button.Thats why I am switching to my Old phone Samsung Champ and I have to let go of my Corby 2.

I just read your concern about your phone. That must be a bit hard for you if you had to send the phone back to the Philippines just to get it to work. But you may want to try my suggestion first.
You may want to try to turn the phone on without the MMC first. Please make sure that the phone is charged enough to turn on. While the phone is turning on, do not push or press any buttons/keys on the phone. Wait until there are indications that the phone is turning on. If the phone turns on, it means that the software of your phone is corrupted by the files that you have on the MMC. So you will have to reformat your MMC on your PC. Also, please reformat your MMC on the phone in order for it to match the phone's software. It is also best if you will Reset your phone to it's factory settings before you reformat the MMC on the phone. Once you're done with reformating the MMC you can copy your files back to it but make sure that you scan it for any viruses.
When you turn the phone on with the MMC in it, it will take time reading the card and running all apps in it so you have to be patient on waiting until the phone has completely booted up. One way of checking if the phone is already completely updated is when you're already able to access your Contacts.
You can try this.. =)

I suppose, that's the best thing to do.. but I bought my unit back in the Philippines and now I'm in Denmark. The thing is, I didn't bring my OR and I tried searching throught the net see if there is a samsung service center somewhere here but there isn't one.. Merely, partner stores are what they have but I don't thing they will take care of this problem for free since, my phone has not been bought in DK.. I'd probably send this phone back in the Philippines before the warranty expires, see if it still can be fixed.. and buy a new phone.
That was such a pretty good unit for such a cheap price if not for that certain problem I have with it, I guess goodbye Corby 2! ='(
